Chapter 11: Time

Ellie stood by a tree, carving a stick with her switchblade. Joel had gone off with some of the other men in the settlement. Time was running out. What were they going to to do? Run away to some other land and start over, or fight for their right? Don was staying in one of the empty houses, which Joel was clueless of and thought he had left for good. Ellie continued carving at the stick until it had a sharp point. Some twigs behind her snapped and she quickly turned around. "Whoa! It's just me." Joel had approached her, putting his hands up. "What do you want?" Ellie said blandly. "We need you." Joel was referring to to the little group meeting that was running. "You need me?" Ellie asked in confusion. "Uh, yeah. You see we... Well, I need your help making this decision." Joel scratched the back of his head. Ellie thought for a moment. "Ok." She nodded.

At the mess hall, the others were loudly fighting over what to do. "Hey, Hey!" Joel shouted over the crowd. The mess hall went silent. Ellie walked in front of Joel. "Well?" One man asked impatiantly. "Shut it, wise guy" Ellie snapped back. "Ellie." Joel set his hand on her shoulder. Ellie brushed him off. She opened her mouth to say something, but quickly shut it. "Why the hell are we relying on her? I mean she doesn't even care about the group!" Another man shouted. "That's enough." Joel said coldly. "Joel." Ellie turned and looked a Joel. "It's... Just not as easy as all of you think it is. I mean, why even leave this in my hands?" Ellie slightly whispered. Joel nodded and slightly smiled. "Well. What is there to lose? I say we fight back. Me and Joel took on hunters with a tank! We fought bloaters, clickers, walkers, all kinds of infected! The men looked astonished. "Well, what is there to lose?" Bow spoke up. All the men nodded.

It was time.

Hey guys! I'm so, so, so sorry for not updating in such a long time. Ever since school started back up, I haven't had time to write. I've found some gaps in my schedule to update, but never did. I'm not really sure how many of you are going to read this, but I recommend going back and reading through all the chapters. I only plan having... Maybe 2 or three more chapters. Well, I guess this is somewhat bye for now. It may be awhile until I upload again so... Bye!
