Adrien

'If I were to put myself in the shoes of an ordinary Paris civilian, I would think nothing is wrong.

I would think; "Hey, look, villains have stopped trying to destroy our city! About time!"

But I'm not an ordinary civilian-'

"Adrien." Plagg groaned from above me, making himself comfortable on my nose as I lay sprawled out on my back across my bed. "Will you please stop doing depressing monologues out loud? It's annoying. And depressing."

"Wha-I wasn't saying anything depressing!"

"No, but your voice sure made it sound like you were." The small kwami sassed me for about the tenth time today.

I rolled my eyes. "Sorry, Plagg. I'm just getting kind of restless waiting for something to happen."

I moved to sit up and Plagg flew off of my nose, moving to hover in the air next to my shoulder. I rested my hands on my knees and crossed my legs, turning my head to look outside.

"It's way to peaceful out there." I frowned. "And empty. Almost half the city is gone." I sighed. "I never realized how many people had been akumatized over the years up until now."

Plagg flicked my ear and I turned to him, raising an eyebrow. "What was that for?"

"You. Are. Being. Depressing." He rolled his eyes. "Again. Just try thinking of something else," his eyes lit up, " like cheese! Oooh, how I love Camembert!" He twirled in place. "Actually, this depressing mood is making me kind of hungry. We should go eat some food."

"Plagg-"

"I vote cheese. Specifically Camembert."

"Plagg, we can't go get cheese now. What if something happens while we're out and I cant transform?"

"Adrien, It's already been two weeks since you and Marinette spoke about what Hawk Moth was doing, and nothing has happened."

"But it could." I persisted.

Plagg shook his little head. "You've got to relax, Adrien. Get some cheese, a comfy chair, and a good horror film and then you'll calm down."

"I doubt a horror film would help much, Plagg."

The kwami shrugged. "It might."

I sighed, falling backwards onto my bed yet again and bringing my hands up to my eyes, rubbing them.

"This is all so complicated yet so simple at the same time. I just don't get it. Why would Hawk Moth wait this long to start something? I'm fairly certain he's already re-akumatized everyone he needed too in Paris by now." I dropped my hands. "What good will it do to wait like this?"

"He's Hawk Moth, Adrien. He's always got something else up his sleeve." Plagg flew over and rested on my chest. "A man like that never runs out of cards to play."

After that, I couldn't think of a reason to say anything else, so I settled with staring up at the ceiling and placing my hands under my head.

I think I had been deep in thought for over an hour-Plagg had fallen asleep, though that wasn't much help because he falls asleep all the time-when I heard a sudden crash coming from somewhere outside my room.
