“Hey everybody! Can I have some quiet for a minute? I’d just like to say a few words.” Said Cassie grinning evilly.
“Well we’ve all come here tonight to celebrate Becky’s birthday!” Everybody started cheering at that but inside I was screaming, screaming with panic.
“Well recently I’ve become friends with dear Becky over there. However not many of you know the real Becky. I didn’t until I met her. She was kind, considerate and welcoming with me. She helped me get out of the mess that was my life. Well at least I thought she was... sweet, considerate Becky.” Cassie said laughing a little.
“Cassie don’t. Please!”I said, my eyes pleading with her to not say anything.
“What’s wrong Becky? Don’t you want me to tell them how you kissed my boyfriend?” I could hear everyone gasp and I could feel their eyes on me but I couldn’t look at them, my eyes were fixed on Cassie.
“Yes it seems like Becky’s been making some friends too!” She said as I shuddered with every poisonous word that came from her mouth.
“Cassie it wasn’t her fault! It was all me. Not her!”
She looked at Liam slightly taken back “Oh it speaks does it?” she said. “Well would you care to explain Liam? Were all listening.”
He looked at the floor nervously; he looked so vulnerable “Look I kissed her ok. Or at least tried to kiss her, she turned away. She did nothing wrong!”
“Nothing wrong? Liam I have video footage of her snogging you! It doesn’t look to me as though she pulled away!” She said showing the screen on her blackberry to us.
There was a video of me kissing Liam playing on the screen. I shut my eyes hoping that this was just a dream and that I would just wake up. But I couldn’t, this was very much real. I looked down at the floor with guilt and humiliation.
“Cassie we weren’t even together then!” shouted Liam.
She opened and shut her mouth as though she was going to say something and then turned to Karen who was standing beside her.
“Karen you told me this video was from February!”
I could hear Karen mumble something. “See Cassie! Becky didn’t do anything!”
“Well just because this was filmed after we split doesn’t mean that nothing went on before!” Cassie hissed.
“Nothing happened! God! You just can’t get it can you? Becky isn’t like that. She’s not like you! She doesn’t go sleeping around.”
“Well that isn’t what it looked like the last night or the night before and the night before that!”
“Cassie what are you on about?”
“You were here! You’ve been staying over for the last three nights!”
I turned away and started to walk out of the house, tears flooding my face. I couldn’t take this anymore. I was just making my way out of the kitchen when I heard a cracking noise and a thud. I turned around to see Liam lying out on the floor and Jake standing above him.
I ran over to Liam and knelt down beside him. I saw Jake storm off in the other direction.
“Oh my god Liam, are you okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine!” he said clutching his nose which was red and bloody.
“Amy look after Liam! I’m going to see what the hell is up with Jake!” I said to Amy as I got up from the floor.
