Chapter 24

“Oi Becks!”

I rolled my eyes and turned round to see Louise bounding towards me down the corridor. I pulled my bag up over my shoulder and turned round to face her. I knew what was coming; party plans.

“Hey have you found out if your parents will let you have a party at yours?”

“Uh...they said they’d think about it.” I lied. Truthfully I hadn’t even asked them. I wasn’t sure how I was going to tell her that a party was a bad idea without actually telling her the real reason why I didn’t want a party. If I told her she would only go round and have a go at both Jake and Liam. Louise was a really kind and considerate person but if someone crossed her or her friends she could be quite scary. I wouldn’t want to cross her. And as much as I would love to see her having a go at Liam I really wouldn’t want to cause a scene. But as much as I didn’t want to tell I didn’t see another way round it.

I interrupted her going on about something to do with music. “Uh...Louise there’s something I have to tell you.” She looked at me confused. I looked around to see if there was anybody within hearing distance. I pulled her to the side, by now she was starting to look worried.

“Becks is there something wrong?”

“No. Well... sort of. It’s the party... I’m not sure it’s a good idea it’s just-“

“Look don’t worry I’ll make sure you don’t lie down in the street again!” She said smirking

“I did that?” There seemed to be no end to the things that I had done that night. I shook my head trying to concentrate on what I had to tell her. “No what I mean is I can’t have a party because...because of Liam.”

“What? Why?”

“Well you don’t know this but well when him and Cassie were going out he gave me a lift home one day and his tried to kiss me.” Her eyes became wide and I could tell that she really wasn’t expecting that.

“Oh my god Becks! Is...is that why they split?”

“No...that was because of Karen. But yeah Cassie doesn’t know about this. So don’t tell anyone.”

“Ok I won’t but he kissed you? Oh my god Becks! He is such a twat and womanizer it’s unbelievable.”

“Well and that’s not it. After they split he followed me out of school and yeah....I might have kissed him.”

“What?!” She shouted, catching the attention of a few people.

“I know, it was stupid right. But that’s not all he keeps following me because he thinks that I like him because of those calls Aria made and...”

“Becks calm down! I don’t have a clue what you’re on about you’re talking too fast!” I let go of a breath that I didn’t know I had been holding. “Right so he kissed you? Or tried to? And then he’s been like stalking you or something and then you kissed him?”

“Yeah. And then Cassie asked Jake out for me and he said no.”

“Jake? When did Jake come into the story?”

“I have no idea but the thing is my life is an absolute mess. One thing after another mate, I have absolutely no idea how to get out of all this. Basically Liam is still intent on thinking that there’s something going to happen between us but then Jake, who I want to feel like that, doesn’t.” I said disappointedly.

“Look we’ll sort something out. Don’t worry. Why didn’t you tell me this before? I feel such an idiot now for suggesting a joint house party. No wonder you didn’t think it was a good idea!”
