"Wait, Rick, did you hear somethin?"
The man with the wings had heard me.
"Not sure, just some walkers nearby, I guess."
No...no...Please I'm here, don't leave. AGAIN LEAH..."Help."
The pain in my throat was like a hot poker.
"There it is again, listen."
He came close, and I tried to focus on his face. Under his long hair, I could see deep blue eyes.
With one last breath, "Help."
I was so confused as to why I was trying so hard to stay alive. It could only be the human instinct to survive.
He jumped back..."This one's still alive."
The other man grabbed an axe out of the car and cut the ropes. I began to fall, but the angel caught me in his arms. I was saved. God had his own plans for me. I could feel him carry me to the car and then silence. I dreamt of Mason and Jackson playing together in heaven. They waved at me to come and join them, so I walked to them.
The men rushed me to the Hilltop to see their doctor. Harlan was sitting in the makeshift clinic when my angel laid me on the bed. Harlan didn't know where to begin, I was unrecognizable, covered in Carly's blood, my body was thin, and caked with dirt. He scrambled to find a vein for an IV. The men stood back and watched as the good doctor did his best to bring me back.
As I sat with my family, I felt like I was being pulled away.
"No.. I want to stay. "...Mason brushed my cheek..
"It's not your time."
Then they were gone.
Harlan and Rick were outside the room speaking as I slept.
"Who is she?"
"I don't know, we found her tied to a tree with a bunch of other women."
Harlan looked puzzled..."Why?"
"Good question, hoping she can give us some answers when she wakes up, if she wakes up."
Rick gave Harlan a questionable look.
"I don't know Rick. It looks like she has been through hell. Her body is in rough shape. I've done all I can with what we have. All we can do now is wait."
I jolted from unconsciousness looking around the room. My vision was still blurry, but I could see a man sleeping in a chair.
Was he the one, and how long had I been out?
I looked down and could see an IV in my arm. They saved me, but I was still leary of why they did. Quietly, I tried to get off the bed, but as soon as my feet hit the floor, my legs gave out. They felt like jello.
"Where you goin?" A rough voice questioned me from behind.
Damnit, I woke him up..stupid.
I looked up, and he was looking over me. I could see a rough looking man, but those eyes took over me.
"Um...no where."
"Yeah.. right." He came over and knelt down to pick me up, and I flinched.
"It's all right.. I'm not gonna hurt ya." I let him help me back in bed.
"I have to get Rick.. he wanted to talk to you when you woke up."
"Who's Rick, and who are you?"
"Well, Rick is kinda the guy in charge. I'm Daryl, you are?"
