Negan stepped out in the front yard of the sanctuary. The air was humid, and the sun beat down on the man kneeling in front of him. This was Big Mike's last day in this new world. He stared up at Negan, pleading one last time with his eyes. Other men stood around to see the afternoon show.
Negan rubbed his chin with one hand and held Lucille in the other."I gotta say Mike, I didn't think you would betray me."
Big Mike coward down like a child. The scene would have been strange to any newcomer's eyes. This big man was afraid of another, and his only weapon was a bat. It proved how much power Negan really possessed.
"Negan, I'm sorry. I just thought she needed to learn a lesson."
Negan smiled, "You know we don't force ourselves on women. We are Saviors, not rapists. For that mistake you have to pay the price."
Mike pleaded one last time before his head disappeared.
"Get rid of him." Negan demanded as he walked away.
In my cell, I tried to pull myself together. The days events had taken their toll on me. Every time I saw a shadow near my door, my body froze. Negan had his chance earlier, but he didn't take it.
I couldn't figure him out. Was he toying with me?
Negan sat in his room, contemplating his next move. He had several ideas on getting me to conform to his twisted harem. Being nice was the first step. He grabbed his walkie,
"Simon."
A soft voice came over the other end, "Yeah, boss."
"I think it's time to let my girl out for some fresh air."
"Sure."
Negan sat staring into space, tapping the antenna to his frowned forehead. He hoped that this plan would work before his frustration turned to plan B.
The door to my cell swung open, and I jumped out of my skin. Another strange man stood in the doorway. He was tall, lanky, and had a mustache.
I crawled into my corner, waiting for his next move.He walked over to me, "Come on, girl, I'm not gonna hurt you. Negan says it's time for some fresh air."
He grabbed me off the floor, and we walked out into the hall. I felt weak as we went down a few corridors. He pulled me out into an opening in the yard. As my eyes tried to adjust, I could see a chain link fence surrounding the grounds. The sun was bright, and I could feel its heat burn my skin. The man held onto me until I could stand on my own.
The air felt so good going through my lungs after being in my cell for so long. I took in every sound, the breeze through my tangled hair, and the smell of the forest outside the walls. I closed my eyes and tilt my head back, escaping in my mind.
Then a voice came through, "Beautiful day, isn't it?"
I came to the present and focused on the voice. Negan was standing in front of me. All I could see was his stupid grin. No words came to retort him. I just gazed into his eyes. He looked over at the tall man beside me, "Simon, take her down to the lake."
"You got it, boss."
Simon, is his name...he grabbed my arm and led me down to a small lake.
I looked at him, trying to figure out why he had brought me here.
"Get in and wash up."
He stared at me as I didn't move a muscle.
"Go on now," he snapped.
I jumped and walked into the lake.
He shook his head, "You're supposed to get undressed first."
I shook my head.
