Jason's pov

*************

"We have to go to The dark mirror palace."

"I know, Ron. But the thing is, we have to be careful not to look at the mirrors that served as the walls."

I sighed. "Let's go."

We walked to the lobby of the inn and waited for Victoria. "Hey guys!"

We both turned towards the sound of a girl. Victoria smiled and walked towards us. She waved at us. Today she was wearing a pretty blue dress that was made by her mother. "So...to the Dark Mirror palace?"

"Yes." Ron brushed a lock of his hair away from his face. "Let's get going."

I smiled at the landlady and nodded at her. The landlady blushed and smiled. I shrugged and exited the inn. We have at least three miles more to reach there. About half a mile, Victoria gasped and leaned against a tree. "Oh dear, I can't walk anymore! My legs are stiff."

Ron frowned. "But...it's only half a mile! Let me carry you then." He walked towards her and held out his hands.

Victoria screamed and backed away. "Stop right there! Don't touch me, you perf."

Ron rolled his eyes and said. "Fine. We'll rest here for awhile. Jason, do you mind..."

"Building a fire? Yeah no problem." I laid my backpack beside Victoria and went deeper into the forest to look for twigs and branches.

The air was cooling and fresh. It reminds me of my house. Suddenly I heard a voice calling my name from a far distance. I cocked my head to one side to listen more clearly. "Jason."

"Jason, come here."

The voice seemed to be coming from the left. I followed the voice. Deeper and deeper into the forest I went. The voice led me to a small cottage in a large empty field. I turned and saw the forest behind me. Oh my! I just walked through a forest.

"Jason." It was the voice that led me here and it was coming from the cottage. I walked towards the cottage and knocked on the door.

A woman opened the door and smiled at me. "Why, it's Jason. Looks like my calling spell worked. Come in please my dear." She held the door open wider for me to enter. I smiled and went into the cottage. My eyes widen at the sight of the cottage. It was filled with books and potions. It looks like a home fit for a witch. There's a black cat sitting on the couch looking at me with it's green eyes.

There's a cauldron beside the hearth with white liquid bubbling inside the pot. On the right, there's a door to a bedroom I think and finally the kitchen. It was beside the bedroom. "Yes dear? Anything weird that you see?"

"N-No."

"Sit down. Freakles! Let the poor boy sit on that couch."

Freakles mewed and jumped off the couch. The woman shook her head. "Oh no, Freakles. Don't go near that pot." Freakles mewed again and jumped out of the open window.

I sat on the couch and stared at the woman that is sitting opposite of me. "I am Lauren. Lydia's sister. Do you know Lydia?"

I shook my head. "Who is that?"

Lauren sighed. "She's a sorceress. Your friend's mother."

"You mean...Victoria?"

Lauren laughed and shook her head. "No! Silly boy. It's Priscillia. Her mum died after giving birth to two children. One is a full witch and the other a half witch."

"You mean...Priscillia is a half witch?"

"Yeah. Didn't you see the mark on her palm? It only has a cresent."

I frowned. "Um, Lady Lauren-"

"Oh just call me Lauren, boy."

"Okay, Lauren? Priscillia has two cresents on her palm. I think you must have mistaken." I clasped my fingers tightly together. Its getting late. I may not find my way back to Ron and Victoria.

"She makes it look as though she is a full witch. She drew the other cresent on her palm. She dosen't want to be found out that she is a half witch. I suspect Helen must have already known."

"Oh...so, did she know you are her aunt?"

"We met at Witch Market the other day. I gave her two potions. One is a love potion and the other is dragon's blood. I told her to give these to King Randy. It will make him realise that Urvale is the bad one. But one day, she was captured by two men. Jake and Led, her uncle. The potions was thrown away by Led. So, I think you will have to take two new ones from me then."

"Led is her uncle, right? So why did he want to capture her?"

"He worked for Urvale."

"Oh...sorry, stupid question."

Lauren got up and went to her shelf full of potions. "I'll just give you the 'Truth' potion. You must force him to drink it."

"Why do you want to give him love potion and dragon's blood?"

"Because, those two are the most powerful substance. When combined, it will produce pure energy. That pure energy has many uses. One, it can be used to give the truth to those who seek for it."

Lauren selected a potion from her shelf and handed it to me. I accepted it with a 'thank you'. Lauren turned towards the opened window. The skies had turned dark and the clouds were stormy. Lauren turned towards me with wide eyes. "Go! Go back to your friends now. They are here!" She grabbed my arm and pushed me out of her cottage. "Run, boy, run!" she screamed, her eyes fixed on the stormy clouds.

I ran and ran until I reached the forest. I turned and saw a dragon flying out from the clouds. It was the dragon that attacked us and snatched Priscillia away. The dragon headed towards Lauren. Lauren was staring at the dragon with shock.

There was a man on the dragon. My eyes widen. I know this guy! Jake.

The dragon, Draco landed beside Lauren and Jake hopped off the dragon's back. I hid behind the tree and watched the both of them deep in a conversation. Suddenly Lauren screamed. I gasped. Jake had just stabbed her in the stomach. Suddenly Jake turned towards me and snarled. Draco took flight and headed towards me.

"Run!" Lauren screamed, blood trickling out from her mouth. Lightning flashed and rain began to fall. The whole world turned dark. I turned and ran as fast as I could. Draco couldn't enter the forest because his wings could get stucked to a tree. So he flew above the trees. I could see his shadow around me.

Any moment now he will attack me. I ran faster. "No need to run." Something stopped me from behind and I turned just to see a rock slammed against my forehead. I crumpled to the ground and groaned. At the corner of my eye, I could see Lauren begging for me to get up. Her face was pale and drenched in sweat. Blood was trickling out from her wound.

I laid my head on the floor and closed my eyes. The pain on my head was too intense. I can't seem to be awake. I could feel myself sinking into darkness.

Ron's pov

***********

"Where's Jason? It's already an hour." Victoria muttered. I draped a clock around Victoria to kept her dry. The rain was getting heavier. I wrapped myself in my gray sweater and huddled next to Victoria.

Victoria's eyes were closed and her mouth was moving. She was praying for Jason's safety.

Suddenly I could hear screams from a lady. I gasped and saw the shadow of a dragon on the ground. Draco.

The shadow was slowly fading. I know where Jason is now. "Victoria?"

She opened her eyes and stared at me with wide eyes. "Screams from a lady." she whispered. "Towards...Wolf de...Janeiro." She shuddered and fell to the ground.

I picked her up and laid her body against a tree. Victoria opened her eyes and smiled at me. "News from a goddess."
