Hey lovelies!!!
I'm here again with the seventh chapter of At the break of Dawn. I hope you enjoy it.

The sky was without stars. It was a very dark night indeed. It was so quiet that Genesis could hear her heart beating hard against her chest. There were disturbing sounds of bird's singing a tune that sent shivers down her spine.

She walked out of her compound, half scared of what was awaiting her. The environment she was accustomed to suddenly looked different to her. As if she were a stranger in her own neighborhood.

The voice that had whispered ever so coldly commanded that she be outside her compound at exactly twelve am on the dot.

The cool breeze washed over her causing her to hug herself as she was not dressed for the occasion. She shivered in the cold. She wished she'd taken a sweater.

As she looked around with round eyes, a stray cat scurried past her and her gaze followed it. Almost immediately, she returned to looking around as if suddenly realising staring after a stray cat was the least of her worries.

Her mind seemed to be playing tricks on her as she imagined herself surrounded by silhouettes. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her palm and grabbed a stone nearby to sit on. Whatever it was she was waiting for, she had not the slightest idea.

She was barely seated in the stone when two women appeared before her and signalled that she followed them. Genesis stood up shakily and walked behind them. Her legs wobbled and she felt as though they had been replaced by jelly.

She thought to ask where they were headed but the fear that grasped her was overwhelming. She continued to walk behind them like one controlled by a remote.

The women stopped walking and turned to face Genesis. They seemed to have pure darkness for face. Was it a mask? Genesis wondered.

"There are many paths here, choose one and there lies your  destiny" one of the women said. Her voice held no atom of emotion.

"Say what now? Genesis blurted out. She'd finally found her tongue.

"We hope you choose the right one" the other woman said. She ignored Genesis's question.

Before Genesis could open her mouth to utter another word they were gone in a flash and a cool breeze blew again.

Genesis looked at the different paths that lay ahead of her. There were four of them. Two were narrow and the other two were broad.

Genesis decided that she'd take the narrow path. She looked from one to the other. She wondered what fate the women were talking about. Finally decided on what she wanted. She took a step on the path she'd chosen and immediately all other paths vanished.

She continued to walk further. She looked around and saw nothing but darkness. The path was lit up by some light that she didn't know from where it came. Thankful for it, she kept walking.

At the end of the path she saw a large open ground. There were poles that stood in the middle. There were many of them. Genesis looked around and there was something that caught her eyes.

On one of the poles, there was a young girl tied to it. She was struggling to free herself but her efforts were in vain. Genesis recognized the stature of the girl _ Lolade.
"What is she doing here? Genesis asked as she ran in the girls direction.

When she was close enough she knew she'd not made a mistake. It was Lolade.

"What are you doing here? Genesis asked. She looked around. "Who tied you here? And why?
