Knock knock!!
Lola waited for Pearl to open the door. She had knocked three times already. She was beginning to think she'd made a mistake by not informing Pearl of her arrival. What if she wasn't home?

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door opening. She'd expected to see Pearl but instead Jimi stood there. Lola's heart skipped a beat.

Unlike her brother, Jimi was chubby, in a cute way though. He was on the tall side. His stature was a bit intimidating. "Hey there!" He said, flashing white teeth.

Lola had imagined his teeth to be brown from all the smoking and drinking. She imagined wrong. She was totally captivated by his smile that she didn't realise she was staring awkwardly at him.

"Hey there!" He repeated and waved his hand to catch her attention.

"Oh hi" Lola said finally regaining her composure. She hoped she didn't seem weird. "Im here to see Pearl, is she in?

"Well, not at the moment" he informed.

Lola sighed and rested on the wall. She really should have called first. She turned to leave and he called her back.

"You didn't let me finish, she's out on an errand I sent her. She'll be back soon, do you wanna wait?

"If you don't mind" lola said

"Of course I don't, come in" he said and moved out of the entrance for her to come in.

Lola stepped in. It was different from the last time she was here with Lekan. There were no drinks, cigarettes, cigars or drugs of any kind in sight. The TV was showing a program she was familiar with. She sat down on one of the sofas and faced the TV.

Jimi sat on another of the sofas. He studied her appearance. She looked really familiar but he couldn't guess where he'd seen her before. She reminded him of someone.

" Have we met before? He finally asked, tired of his guesses that didn't lead to a reasonable conclusion.

" actually yeah" Lola answered "I was here with my brother some time ago"

"Who's your brother?

"Lekan"

Jimi smiled. Little wonder why he thought he'd seen her before. She looked exactly like her brother.

" of course!" Jimi exclaimed with saucer eyes. "When was that though? I mean when you came with him"

"A week ago I guess" Lola said. She liked talking to him. He didn't appear drunk or high like the times she'd seen him with Lekan." I still don't know how you couldn't recognize me. You've been to my house a couple of times"

He laughed. "I guess I was blind to not have noticed a beauty like you" he said flashing her another killer smile.

She blushed "thanks"

"What do I offer you? A beer? Wine?

"I don't drink alcohol" Lola announced.

"My bad. A juice or something then. You're just like Pearl. She detests alcohol" he walked up to the fridge, glancing at her as he talked.

Lola laughed a little. She checked her watch. Where the hell was Pearl? It wasn't like she wasn't enjoying Jimi's company but the matter they had to discuss was very important.

"Here" he handed her a glass of orange juice.

"Thanks"

"How's Lekan doing? Been a while we talked"

"He's all good" lola smiled.

"Give me your phone number" he said as she passed her his phone "You don't mind, do you? He asked nicely.
