"Lola!" Pearl cried out in horror.

"What's it? Lola asked. She'd just come out from the music room. "Why are students running towards the gym?

Pearl looked pale with fright. She was visibly shaking and weeping uncontrollably.

Lola got scared "talk to me!" She said shaking Pearl by the shoulder.

"Apparently a student was found dead in the gym" Pearl said. Tears flowed freely down from her eyes." Yolanda's dead!

Lola stood still. She looked like she'd seen a ghost. "W..w.who? She stuttered.

"Follow me!" Pearl said and dragged her by the hand. As they approached the gym, Lola saw that the place was crowded with students and teachers. Her heart skipped a beat.

The sound of students crying filled the atmosphere. The door of the gym was locked from inside. Teachers were inside, talking seriously.

"What happened to her? Lola screamed.

"No one knows. She was found there this morning by one of the janitors." A student answered.

Lola suddenly lost trust in her eyes and ears. They seemed to be playing pranks on her. How possible was it that Yolanda had died? She didn't look sick. Then again Lola realised she hadn't taken any notice of Yolanda ever since the day of the sleep over.

Images of Genesis telling her to listen to what she had to say flashed into her mind. She felt guilt spread through her body. She hugged herself as she began developing goosebumps.

"Lola" Genesis said, she patted Lola's shoulder.

"Yes? Lola turned. She wasn't in the mood for arguments of any sort.

"Do you think you can listen to me now?

Frankly, Lola had not the slightest care for what Genesis might have to say. Fear had eaten deep into her mind. Back in her previous school, there had been so cases of death.

"Genesis not right now" Lola said, almost in a whisper.

"Why is it so hard for you to listen? Are you scared of what you might find out because I am" Genesis said softly.

For the first time, lola saw emotion in Genesis's eyes. She looked like she had been crying. Her eyes were puffed up and slightly red. Lola felt sorry for her. Yolanda's death must have affected her a lot.
