It was a few minutes past twelve midnight. The girls had just finished watching a romance movie.
" That was so cute!" Prisca squealed " I wish love was this easy"
"Of course it is, idiot!" Yolanda eyed her from across the room.
Pearl laughed. "says the girl who doesn't even have a boyfriend to call her own" she teased.
"Was that supposed to be funny? Yolanda asked, unimpressed.
"Cranky much? Tola asked.
"Not cranky" Yolanda said finally after moments of what seemed like eternity." Love happens when it does and I think I've found him" she said dreamily.
"You mean Lekan? Trisha asked sitting up. She looked from Yolanda to Lola.
"My brother? Lola was obviously amused.
"Do you mind? Genesis said " I'm trying to read here"
" seriously girlfriend, you need to lighten up" pretty said patting her back.
Genesis rolled her eyes " when are we sleeping? We've got school tomorrow, you know"
"Uhm the main point of a sleep over isn't the sleeping part" lola replied.
"It isn't? Genesis asked, her face was as expressionless as expressionless ever.
"Durh" tola said from behind.
"The main point is the things that are done when you're not sleeping" lola beamed.
"Uhm okay. I don't see us doing anything so I suggest we sleep" Genesis persisted.
Lola got up from the huge furry pillow she had been sitting on. She thought of something to get the girls attention.
"Who wants to do something fun? Lola asked.
The girls seemed to be interested.
" is it a game or something else? Pearl asked as she sat up.
Lola didn't have anything in mind. She wanted to make sure she had the girls' attention. She wanted her sleep over to be awesome. A mischievous thought crossed her mind. " I'll be right back, girls" she said and slipped out of her room.
She looked around. Grandma was definitely not around. She slipped into her Grandma's room. Lola walked towards the shiny object. She considered what she was about to do. She had no right whatsoever to take the crystal ball from the room. "Its just gonna be for some minutes and I'll bring it back" she said, trying to assure herself that she wasn't doing any harm. She looked around once again before picking the ball from the table where it was positioned.
She slipped out of the room and ran into hers. All the girls gathered round her and the crystal. They gasped as they had turns looking at it. Lola placed it on the table and beamed. She was beside herself with joy even when guilt was what she should have felt.
Genesis looked horrified as she stared at the ball. "Hold up, lola where did you get that crystal ball from?
" its for my grandma, I just thought you girls would love to see it"
" Does it tell the future? Yolanda said as she smiled.
Prisca rolled her eyes in her head. She had finally had enough of this Yolanda. "I always knew you were dumb but that question you asked just made me realize I underestimated your stupidity"
"Oh no she didn't!" Yolanda flared up. She charged at prisca who was now seated on the furry pillow.
"Hey break it up guys! What's the matter with the both of you? Lola screamed as she dragged Yolanda away from Prisca who was determined to beat the crap out of her.
