May 31st

" This is it,"

I turned and saw Mamá all teary eyed.

" You're finally graduating!" Mama squeals, hugging me tightly.

" With honor rolls and a scholarship if I may add." Papá says as he stepped into my room.

I laughed and hugged my parents, " I guess I am."

" Gosh, I was totally nervous!"

I looked at Summer and roll my eyes at her.

" You are such a loser."

Summer and I looked up to see Marcos towering over us.

" And that's why you love me." Summer teases as Marcos blushes.

I laughed as they start being lovey dovey with each other.

Speaking of lovey dovey... where's Gabe?

I looked around to see that familiar guy, but when I didn't see him... my mood deflated.

Boom boom!

" Uh can I have your attention everybody?"

I turned around fast and saw that Gabriel was on the stage, in a fancy schmancy suit, holding a bouquet of roses and he looked awfully cute, and nervous at the same time.

Why he's nervous?

When everyone was looking at him, his face flushes and he coughs.

" Will Megan Vasquez come up to the stage please?"

I raise an eyebrow and Gabriel looks at me.

" Megan Vasquez..."

I raised my hand and yelled, " That's me... don't wear it out!"

Everyone laughed and I took that as my cue to go up the stage.

Once I was up there, Gabriel hands me the bouquet of roses (which earned him a collective of awwwws and whistles from the crowd) and he coughs again.

" I have a few words I would like to say to Megan..."

I held my breath and felt myself getting cold feet.

Now why I'm nervous?

" Megan, when I first met you... I thought of you as a pain in the ass..."

More laughs greeted him and I narrowed my eyes at him.

" Although you were such a pain, it made me want to tease you and get you annoyed, which worked... as I started getting closer to you, I started falling for you. Although we had some problems, we overcame them together which made us stronger..."

All of sudden I felt tears welling up in my eyes and I felt a burden in the back of my throat.

" I have never felt this way about anyone... I fell in love you Megan. I love you more than anything."

The crowd goes quiet and I felt my heart welling up with happiness.

" I love you too." I choked out, clutching the bouquet of roses.

" So... I decided to go against clichés and ask you..."

The atmosphere went skyrocketing when Gabriel gets down on one knee and takes out a small box, opening it up to reveal to me a diamond ring.

That's when everything went in slow motion...

I felt my hands letting the bouquet slip from my fingers, the crowd rising out of their seats, a couple of gasps, and Summer squealing.

Then the tears that has been welling up flew out and I covered my mouth in shock.

Gabriel smiles and says the five magic words...

" Will you marry me Megan?"
