Griff stopped and wiped his eyes as well. "Well, it fits pretty well. I might steal it from you." His eyes sparkled with good humor. "Hmm. No, I think you should keep it here so you have extra clothes here." Griff stopped and looked at her with the black shorts clasped in his huge paws. "Umm." He looked at her and his cheeks reddened a little. "Could you.. uh.. maybe turn around for me?" Amy tilted her head. "Why?" Griff held up his shorts and just looked at her. Understanding flooded through Amy. "Oh, yeah, of course." Amy laid back on the bed and closed her eyes. The sheets were nice and soft, and they were a cool dark blue, like almost everything else in her room.
There was a thump and Amy raised one eyebrow. "You okay Griff?" His deep voice came back to her, "Yeah, I'm good. Just bad balance. I almost fell on the floor." Amy chuckled and kept her closed tightly. After a few more moments she heard his voice. "Ok, you're good now." Amy leaned back up into a sitting position and opened her eyes. She stared at the tiger in front of her. "Those shorts actually fit better than you thought they would." She commented. The shorts went down to just above his knees and looked like they weren't baggy, but they weren't tight either. "Yeah, they do." Was Griff's response. Amy crawled over to the far side of the bed and slid underneath the covers. She heard the bed creak as Griff climbed in behind her. She felt the body pillow she had mentioned brush against her back. Amy turned over to face the large tiger. "Good night Griff. Hopefully I'll see you in the morning."
Griff smiled one last time and reached over and patted her shoulder. "Yeah, I think so. You want me to wake you up when I head out for work?" She nodded. "Yes please, I want to say goodbye to you before you leave. Do whatever you need to wake me up. And you know where the coffee is when you get up." Griff nodded. "Top cabinet above the sink?" "Yup, and the homemade biscuits are in the cabinet beside the fridge. Just heat them up for one minute thirty seconds and you'll have a nice breakfast for work." Griff leaned forward and hugged her. "Thank you Amy." "No Griff, thank you. You helped me get over my nightmare tonight." They both hugged again and then Amy turned around, her back facing Griff. Darkness enveloped her and she fell into a blissful, dreamless sleep.
The sound of electronic music floated around the room, waking Amy. She then became aware of the fact that the body pillow from earlier was gone; she felt a pair of strong arms wrapped around her. She craned her neck back to look behind her. She saw Griff with his arms around her and curled around her, breathing deeply, clearly still asleep. Amy gently removed his arms from around her and turned around to face him. His eyes flickered and she leaned forward, placing her paws on his shoulder and gently shaking him. Griff mumbled something and tried to turn over. Amy shook her head and crawled out of her bed, going over the foot of the bed rather than crawl over the big orange tiger.
She walked over to her bedside table and picked up Griff's phone and turned up the alarm volume. When he still didn't wake up she turned off the alarm and picked up her own phone. She unlocked and went through her music. "Here we go. This should work." Amy muttered to herself. She turned on the song and turned up the volume all the way. It was quiet for a moment and then a loud fast beat of the drums started up, followed by an electric guitar. Griff instantly jumped up from the bed and grabbed Amy's shotgun that was propped against the bed.
"Woah! Woah!" Amy turned off the music and raised up her paws in a sign of surrender. Griff relaxed and set the shotgun back down. "Why would you do that?" He asked her angrily. "Well, you wouldn't wake up when I shook you and when I turned up your alarm you didn't react." He shook his head slowly, chuckling. "You told me to do anything to wake you up and I ended up being the one who wouldn't get up. That's unusual."
