Super High Ch.4

Tasha

I giggled at the corny smart joke Jacob told me. Ray groaned behind us as we walked into Sidekick 101 taught by my dad. Yeah. My dad is a Sidekick, unfortunately.

"Hey sweetie. How has your day been?" My dad, Professor Tyler Smith Sr., asked me. I just gave him a soft glare as I went to sit in the back with Ray and Jacob.

"Sweetie?" Jacob asked.

"Professor Tyler Smith is my dad, who's a Sidekick. It's so embarrassing." I sighed as I slid down in my seat and Dad started the lesson.

I was so ready for this to end as soon as it started. I pulled out a calculator to play with. I took it apart and put it back together to make a laser gun with my mind. Jacob watched in awe as I took the laser to burn my dad's pants leg. When he caught on fire and started jumping around, I laughed with the rest of the class as I turned the laser gun back into a calculator.

"Okay. Who did it?" Dad asked. No one said anything, but Dad looked at me. "Tasha, give me the calculator you turned into a laser gun and back."

I rolled my eyes with a sigh as I got caught. Dad was a Technopath like me and was incredibly smart. Only reason he was a Sidekick because in his day, a Technopath wasn't important or usable. Now, I'd be a Hero instead because a Technopath is very valuable and useful.

"I'll speak with you later, young lady." He said. I just rolled my eyes as the bell rang. I was the first one out of the room.

"Why would you do that to your dad?" Ray asked as we meet up with Jamie, Craig, and Aria.

"Because he's a Sidekick. I was picked on for being his daughter. Everyone thought I'd be a Sidekick too since we have the same power. But people don't understand how powerful I am. I can make this whole school crumble right now because of all the technology in here." I said.

"She isn't kidding either. Did it to our elementary school when the kids wouldn't stop teasing her." Aria laughed. "I swear those little pussies where worse than the five year old girls! And they were thirteen!"

"You're so mean." Craig laughed at Aria.

"I'm not! I'm perfectly nice. I just happen to have a little mean in me." Aria said. I high fived her.

"So, threatening to burn my hair isn't mean?" Jacob asked as we all walked to Science.

"You deserved it!" Aria snapped.

"Just because I ain't want you?" Jacob raised an eyebrow.

"Oh shut up." Aria rolled her eyes. We all laughed as we walked through the door.

"Okay, class! First things first! We need a seating chart. I don't want you sitting by your friends or someone with the same powers as you. So change seats, now!" Professor Marcia Holmes, Aria and Jamie's stepmom, smiled.

I sat by Aria. We didn't have the same powers.

"Move Tasha. You know you and Aria are best friends. Go sit by, Rayan." Marcia smiled. I laughed as I changed seats with Jacob. He went to sit by Aria as I sat by Ray.

"Hey Ray." I smiled.

"Hey Tas." Ray nodded as he reached for his pencil on the floor. He just stretched his arm instead of getting up.

"That must be great not having to move for stuff." I whispered as Marcia started the lesson.

"It really is. Also good for pranks." Ray smirked. I gave a soft laugh as I felt someone tug on my mental strings. It felt like Jacob wanted to talk to me. I can barely have a mental conversation, my mental powers aren't that advanced for conversation with humans. I can only control technology.

Why won't you open up? I want to talk. J.P

My mental...capabilities...limit to tech...nology...This...is...drain...ing...me. T.S

Jacob gave me a look from next to me. Aria looked at me confused as my head dropped down into my desk.

"Are you okay, Tasha?" Marcia asked. I could barely talk to answer her. I felt something wet hit me and I sat up straight. Jamie and Aria splashed me with water.

"Are you okay?" Jamie asked.

"I'm fine. Just mentally drained." I said as they dried me off.

"Okay. Just put your head down, Tasha." Marcia said before finishing her lesson. I placed my head down.

I'm sorry for draining you. I'll help you with your mental capabilities and you can help me with mine. Mind control and technology control aren't so different. J.P

I smiled at the thought of alone time with Jacob as the class eneded and so did school.
