"Ms. Parker, can you please stay still?"

The nurse struggled to put the IV fluid on my arm. We drove straight back to the office since the agency had its own set of medical professionals to address wounded agents.

And we've been here for about half an hour. "Yeah, yeah," I mumbled as I looked at her with my eyebrows furrowed together. She sighed in frustration as she adjusted the needle and the place where she'll put in my arm.

Then Wade came bursting inside the room. He looked like a zombie because he had dark bags under his eyes like he hasn't slept for days, his shirt crumpled, and hair tangled in all places. In short, he looked terrible.

He scanned the whole room and when his blue orbs landed on me, he immediately walked in my direction.

"Are you okay? What the hell were you thinking?" he yelled and that made me flinch causing the nurse to let out another groan. "Sorry," he said to nurse. I think she ignored him and continued whatever she was doing.

"Hello to you too. You look like a caveman who time-travelled here," I joked as I examined his look from head to toe. I heard the nurse quietly chuckle who was almost done with fixing the wires and IV bags by the side.

"I'll check on you after an hour," the nurse stated and sighed in relief as she stepped outside the room.

He returned me a glare while I gave him an innocent smile. Wade took a deep breath and stepped closer, bent down, and knelt in front of me. I felt my heartbeat quicken as I stare back at him.

Stop looking at those goddamn beautiful eyes.

He took both my hands together, cupped it with his and looked at me like I might disappear.

"Please promise you'll always tell me where you'll be?" he asked, looking into my eyes. I can sense there was a hint of worried and pleading in his voice.

"Oh come on, I'm here now," I say but he didn't move nor spoke.

"Alright, alright, I, Jessica Parker, promise you."

He let go of my hands and pulled me again into a tight hug. He sighed in relief, placed an arm around my shoulders and a hand on my head.

"You got me worried sick. You've gone missing for three days, three fucking days," he says into my ear. I can feel his hot breath. "Do you have any idea how terrified we were? Mark and Martha were going crazy, not being able to locate you. I was going insane, not being able to help in finding you since I was a civilian and wasn't allowed inside. Even that Cameron, or whatever his name is, was also asking and I had no idea what to say."

I didn't reply and hugged him back. I slowly wrapped my arms around his waist, reassuring him that I'm
not going anywhere.

He seemed to be caught off guard by it but nonetheless relaxed after a few seconds. I didn't know what to respond to that other than joking around or a sarcastic remark and I also didn't want to anger him more.

Damn, I gotta admit, I did miss him.

See? Told ya.

But, I'm scared. I'm getting attached and this is not good.

Don't ruin this. Just treasure it, Jess.

We were still for a couple of moments. I think time stopped. If we were in a regular hospital, we would've looked like an ordinary young couple who's just scared that the other might disappear forever. You wouldn't guess one of them is a secret agent and the other is an heir to a big company.
