Amery heard the door open and she still kept her eyes closed too tired to move. She felt her seatbelt being taken off gently. She felt someone pick her up bridal style. She shifted to wake up but the person’s arm rubbed her back soothingly and she felt the sparks light up in her and she drifted back to sleep.
Amery woke up in a warm bed. She sat up and noticed she wasn’t in her room back at home. She looked down and saw she was still in her day clothes and her shoes and socks were on the floor and her bag was on a chair. She pulled back the covers and got out of bed her feet touching the floor gently. She stood up and she saw a mirror and she went to it. She combed her fingers through her hair. She wiped the eyeliner off away from her eyes. She turned around and she opened the door gently. She noticed she was back at the palace. She walked down the hallway and she remembered where to go. She reached the first floor. She walked around noticing the furniture she didn’t recognize last time she was here. She found the living room and saw a big screen TV. She sat down on the nice round couch. She saw the remote on the coffee table and was about to turn on the TV.
“Hey I see you’re awake” said Lionel wearing a business suit.
“Yeah I’m awake. What am I doing here?” asked Amery.
“Well it wasn’t safe for you to go home and your brothers have gone out of state for a family emergency. They couldn’t take you so I guess you’ll be staying here until they get back” said Lionel sitting on the couch.
“Wait but what about school?” asked Amery. She understood her family leaving but what about school and was she going to be able to hang out with her friends.
“You will still be attending school still and your things will be brought here tonight. The same rules apply here that your father has given you” said Lionel.
“Thank you sir” said Amery.
“Come on please call me Lionel calling me sir is formal but for me it makes me sound like a seventy year old man” said Lionel and Amery did a small smile and nodded.
“Ok the house is going to be empty. Diana is out at her job and my son is out doing pack business and for me I have a meeting to go to. I should be back before dinner. Why don’t you go out with your friends and be back at 7:30pm” Lionel explained and got up and he grabbed his keys and went to the garage closing the door behind him.
Amery went upstairs to her room, and she saw her bag. She grabbed it and texted her friends the address to come get her, so she can get out the house. They were having a fair at the school for a fundraiser and it was the perfect sunny day to do it.
She realized she didn’t know what to wear so she texted Natalia to bring her back up clothes. Amery went downstairs and ate a banana and drank some water. She heard the doorbell ring and she went to answer it.
“Hey girl” said Natalia and Randy behind her having his hair brushed down and he wore a blue V-neck and dark jeans with converse and a watch. She always forgot that even though he was attractive he was gay. Natalia wore a purple shorts and a tank top that said Love on it. She invited them in and they went up to her current guest room.
“So tell me what is up with all the shit?” asked Randy.
“Okay well my dad is on a trip with his friends, and for my brothers and their love life family life they went to go see family members and an emergency came up so here I am and have to stay with Lionel until they get back” explained Amery.
