Amery was having a busy day. She was figuring out her banquet and helping setting up Samantha and Casie's 12th birthday party. They were twins that differently looked alike, but their minds were confusing to understand. Amery planned the party Saturday, since her banquet award was Friday. Amery got out of school early and went down to one of the big city science labs. She found out Bryan worked or was in charge there.
She finally arrived, and she went in the building after parking her car. She signed in at the desk after telling the people she was related to him. It was a lie but then it wasn't. She waited in one of the rooms. Bryan showed up and he was in a lab coat.
"Amery what are you doing here? Are you okay?" asked Bryan taking his gloves off.
"I'm fine..umm..are you busy at 6-9pm Friday?" asked Amery.
"Umm...no. Not that i know of. Why what's up?" he asked.
"I want you to come to my banquet for an award tomorrow. I-it would mean alot if you came" said Amery hoping he wouldn't say no.
"Sure I'd love to" he smiled and Amery sighed in relief and smiled.
"Thank god. Thank you" said Amery.
"What you think I didn't want to come?" he asked.
"It's not that, you and Ryder are so busy" said Amery and Bryan showed guilt in his eyes.
"Don't worry i'll be sure to come. I don't want you to ever think that we aren't giving you enough attention" said Bryan. Amery nodded and Bryan gave her a long kiss.
"Do you know where Ryder might be?" asked Amery.
"He's at the station in his office" said Bryan an Amery nodded and she gave him one last peck and left to the station.
When Amery got there she went up to Ryder's office. She knocked two times and cracked the door open and found it empty. She walked in and she hasn't been at his office in a month. He had big desk filled with photos and pens and office decoration. His office was organized and he had a good view of the city behind him that he can look down on. Amery sat in his big office chair. She swirled around and faced the window, looking at the buildings and then looking out towards the ocean seeing the sunset.
She heard the door open and she was hit with strong perfume that belonged to Tamika. Amery turned around to face her as She was walking forward about to untie a jacket. Was she that desperate? She thought.
"What are you doing here?" asked Tamika with distaste in her voice.
"I'm waiting for Ryder" said Amery
"Oh, well so am I. Guess we will both have to wait here." said Tamika sitting on one of his couches.
Amery didn't wait and looked through her phone answering messages from some pack members. So far her brother and their mates were coming and her father was coming.
"You know. Ryder may be your mate, but if you think about it, i'm always going to be his. Why try so hard to get something you can't have?" said Tamika and Amery was not affected by her attitude. She was over the being of mates. Tamika needed to learn , she somehow killed hers. She needed to let go and taking someone else's mate , was not fair and was downright wrong.
"Are you mad Ryder chose me over you?" asked Tamika again smirking hoping the comment got to Amery.
"If you say Ryder is yours then fine. I don't care anymore. Ryder may choose you but that doesn't mean I don't care about him. He cares about me. You need to accept the fact your mates are gone. I know it's hard, but taking mine and playing a game, proves you didn't grow up. You're trying to show everyone, you're better than them, but the only thing, you are showing is you're willing to do anything to get attention. When you don't have it, you whine like a little bitch and turn into a crazy fucked up bitch, just to me sure you get your spotlight back." said Amery while texting away to Rebecca and texting Natalia. Natalia finally decided to appear and hoped she was going to come to the banquet like she said she would. Tamika sat their fuming and pouted. She wasn't sure how to take the reaction, or hide it and deny it.
The door opened revealing Ryder and Drake.
"-he has to be behind-.." Drake trailed off and he saw Amery focused on texting on her phone and Tamika glaring daggers at her.
"What are you two doing in my office?" asked Ryder.
"Well I came to see if you were still stressed. Also to fill you in with a report. I tried to get HER out of here...but she didn't take me seriously" said Tamika.
"I'm here because I wanted to ask you Ryder,if you were busy Friday around 6-9pm?" asked Amery.
"No why?" He asked coming around his desk, towards Amery. He put a file in his jour and then locked it.
"I'm having banquet for awards at my school Friday. Its dinner and I wanted to know if you wanted to come?" asked Amery, looking him in the eyes giving him a soft smile. He did a small smile in thought.
"Sure I'll come" said Ryder and Amery smiled fully in thanks. She got up, giving a quick peck on the cheek.
"Tamika if you want to come,your welcome to come also" said Amery and she went to walk out the door saying bye to Drake.
Amery finally made it home and it was 7pm. She looked in the fridge, and saw there wasn't really anything to eat. She picked up her phone and texted Bryan.
"Hey can you bring home food. There's nothing to eat" texted Amery.
"Sure what do you want?" Bryan texted back.
Chinese or Pizza. I don't know, just something. Bring ice cream for dessert. Please and thank you" texted Amery and set her phone on the counter. She went upstairs to take shower. Amery thought about the banquet. She invited everyone she wanted to come. She invited Tamika because she thought it'd be respectful since they were to get married and were together. It hurt her to know, that Ryder was getting married. If this was to happen, she still wanted a friendship from him, to know she mattered to him. Also to show him, despite how he is, she still loves and cares for him in the end. Amery finished her shower. She got out and wrapped a towel around her and went to the bedroom. She changed into a yellow bra with white boy shorts. She then put on her yellow-white mid-thigh nightgown. She brushed her hair and put it in a messy bun. Amery sat on the bed realizing how tired she was. She crawled to the middle of the bed and laid face down in star position. She thought about Ryder and Bryan and then thought about who she was to be in the future. Their wife, one of their lives, another guys girlfriend, wife? Maybe just single, an awesome friend to the guys and a part of their lives in a mysterious, unsuspecting way. She yawned and she closed her eyes, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Ryder and Bryan have been trying to reach Amery and were racing home in seperate cars. They hoped she was there and were worried because Amery always answered her phone. The brothers both parked in the drive way and walked inside the house seeing the lights were still on. Bryan set the food down on the counter while Ryder went upstairs to look for Amery. When he opened the door, he did a small smile as he saw Amery silently snoring. Her hair was everywhere and she had her mouth happened a little. He mind linked his brother saying she was sleeping in the bed.
Ryder walked forward and Bryan came in behind him, after turning off all lights and putting the food away. He looked at his mate and smiled at the sight. Ryder picked up Amery gently not to wake her. Bryan pulled the covers back, and Ryder laid Amery down and pulled the blankets over her. Ryder and Bryan got ready for bed and they fell asleep.
