NORMA TURNS THE CAN OVER IN HER HAND.
NORMA: I suppose she couldn’t bring herself to throw it away.
NORMA PLACES THE CAN ON THE CONSERVATORY FLOOR CLOSE TO THE DOOR OF THE KITCHEN.
NORMA: Not much of a last resting place. I guessed of course. But it was so good
to see Joyce enjoy the pleasure of this last summer sitting out here with
Martin doing so well with the business that I couldn’t bring myself to betray
them. Infact I felt a bit responsible.I may have inadvertently put ideas
into Joyce’s head. I hope she’s been able to make her peace with Vernon.
He’ll be easy to find, just follow the trail of celestial beer cans. Of
course she may not make it up there. But as cleanliness is next to Godliness....
