Chapter 2 Jacob and Jade

I sigh and cross my arms and Edward approaches.

"Oh good. Cullen's here," Mike announces dryly.

"Yay," Jessica deadpans. Edward makes our friends uncomfortable.

"Check ya later," Eric says and our friends all move away.

"Bye," I chirp trying to stay cheerful. Bella doesn't respond to them and just stares at Edward, utterly transfixed. I roll my eyes as they walk to each other their eyes never straying from each others. Edward smiles and embraces her.

"Happy birthday," he whisper to her and kisses her head. Bella's face immediately falls and she frowns.

"Don't remind me," Bella mutters, crabby.

"Your birth is definitely a day to celebrate," Edward points out with a grin.

"Not for me," Bella mumbles.

"Eighteen is a little early to be worrying about your age," Edward counters and I roll my eyes. I already tried all that but it didn't work. He won't succeed in making Bella like her birthday anymore than I will.

"It's one year older than you," Bella replies.

"Bella, I'm over a hundred years old."

"I said that too!" I interject.

"True. Maybe I should be creeped out that I'm dating such an old guy," Bella jokes and I nearly scream. Oh my gosh this Edward kid has her wrapped around his finger!

"Yes, it's the age that's creepy, not the fact that you're dating a vampire," Edward retorts.

"Said that too," I but in.

They both ignore me and start to kiss. It's so tender, loving, and passionate.

I look away and sigh. Jacob hasn't called me in awhile.

After a moment they stop and pull away both obviously wanting more. Edward nods to school and Bella bites her lip.

"Class."

"Right. Class," Bella confirms. I spin on my heel and purposefully stalk towards school.

The footsteps behind me suddenly stop making me turn. Edward is glaring at the tree line.

"Someone wants you two," he flowers just as Jacob jogs up. Next to him is someone I haven't seen before. A quite gorgeous girl to be exact.

"Bella! Reyna!" he calls. Oh I've missed his messy ponytail and brown eyes.

Wait-did he get taller and more muscular? Oh no, he's going to change soon if he hasn't already. He looks way to tall for being 16.

I nearly laugh when he half trips. So the gregarious Jacob is a little klutzy.

Jacob comes up and nods to Edward who movies to the side.

Unable to contain my gladness at seeing him again I throw caution to the wind and jump into his arms. Jacob catches me easily and laughs.

"I missed you too Reyna," Jacob chuckles.

"So this is the Reyna I've heard so much about," the girl says with a laugh.

"All good things I hope. And you! You haven't called in ages," I exclaim and playfully hit him as soon as I'm on my own feet again.

"Who's this?" I ask.

"This is Jade she's, well she's..." Jacob trails off. The black haired girl shakes her head and chuckles.

"I live with Billy because my parents passed away awhile ago. So I'm a family friend," Jade elaborates. She has a natural blush on her cheeks and the best cheekbones. Her skin tone is similar to Jacobs.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Reyna and this is my twin Bella," I say and shake her hand politely. She seems nice enough, but all bets are off if she steps on my man. Bella nods at her before directing her attention to Jacob.

"God, Jacob, what are they feeding you on that rez, steroids? You're huge," Bella remarks in surprise.

"All the food comes with a side of steroids," Jade supplies and smirks.

"Wouldn't seem so drastic if you came around more," Jacob shoots back. "Like Reyna here."

"I come around more often but dang I hadn't noticed you getting so big," I gush.

"It happened practically overnight," Jade agrees.

"I will, soon. But isn't your school, like, ten miles that way?" Bella inquires. Jacob grins and shakes his head.

"Yeah I'm just here buying this for the Rabbit. I'm almost done with the rebuild. You girls gotta come take a ride when it's done," Jacob murmurs sheepishly. He suddenly acts as if he's nervous. "Oh, and hey, happy birthday you guys. Your dad told my dad. So..." Jacob pulls a dream catcher and a necklace from his pocket.

He hands the dream catcher to Bella and the necklace to me. My necklace has a paw print dangling from it.

"I saw these the other day and thought of you two. Yours catches bad dreams and your necklace keeps evil away," Jacob explains and I blush. I quickly pull it over my head and adjust it on my chest.

"This, I need. It's great," Bella compliments and holds it close. "Thanks Jake."

"The bell's about to ring," Edward declares, glaring at Jacob. The bell rings seconds later making me scowl.

I don't want to say bye to Jake.

Jacob amiably smirks at Edward.

"Ooh, look at you, all psychic."

"I don't have that particular gift. But I can read a watch. I'm clever that way," Edward remarks sarcastically.

"Burn!" Jade hisses and elbows Jacob.

Jacob and Edward share a tight lipped smile and I huff.

"Bye Jacob!" I shout and hug him tightly. "Thank you so much! Also it was amazing to meet you Jade!"

"Bye, Jake, and thank you," Bella says politely and Edward guides her away. I stay back for a moment and kiss Jacob on the cheek before catching up to Edward and Bella.

"How come Jacob Black gets to give you a gift and I don't?" Edward questions with feign hurt.

"He's just a friend," Bella defends.

"Friends" don't spend two weeks looking for the perfect dreamcatcher," Edward responds vehemently. My smile falls and I furrow my eyebrows. Did Jacob spend that much time on me?

"Stop reading his mind if he bothers you so much," Bella mutters.

"Little hard to tune out. His thoughts about you two are so loud," Edward complains. Bella just laughs while Edward throws a glare over his shoulder.

I glance back for a second to wink at Jacob and wave to Jade.
