"Wakey! Wakey!" A loud voice screamed in my ear.
"What the hell!?" I flinched from the loud sound.
I raised my head and rubbed my eyes as I took a look around.
I was in English class but it was empty. No teacher, no student, just me and—
"Man,you're a heavy sleeper." Loren chuckled, shaking her head at me.
—the annoying loud voice who'd woken me up.
"Class has been over for like 20 minutes." She informed, straightening up.
"I would've had a good night's rest if someone meaning you, hadn't kept me up all night, working on a stupid project!" I glared at her and she gave an apologetic smile.
"It was an A worthy project, right?" She poked me playfully. "You did a really good job, bestie."
"It would've been,if you hadn't destroyed the dang project!" I yelled, throwing my arms up in frustration.
"It's not my fault my feet crushed it. You know I'm partially blind when I wake up in the mornings." She said in her defense and I scoffed.
"More like you refuse to open your eyes on your way to the bathroom." I mumbled and she rolled her eyes.
"That was the past and this is the present. Move on,Carrie." She said passionately, like she was a motivational speaker and this time I rolled my eyes at her.
I got up to my feet and grabbed my books walking out of the class and into the Hall.
"Carolyn!" Loren called but I just ignored her. "Carolyn!"
"Go away,Loren!" I called back, increasing my pace.
"Just wait! There's something I have to tell you!"
"It can wait." I waved her off. She'd probably wanted to tell me about the new shoes she'd gotten or something.
As I continued to walk towards my locker,I noticed I was getting strange looks from people.
Why're they staring at me?
I heard a few girls giggle and others smiling really wide as I passed by them.
Is there something on my face?
I felt my face with my hands and everything felt normal.
I heard a few other laughs and I knew something was definitely wrong.
I rushed to my locker, unlocking it quickly, then I pulled out my mirror and looked into it, my eyes widening in horror as I glanced at my reflection.
On seeing my face,I let out an ear deafening scream.
My face had been decorated with markers.
I looked like cat with a mustache and written on my forehead were two letters.
J.D.
I knew only one person with initials like that and he was far away in Australia.
He'd been in Australia for over four years.
Could he have been back?
No one said anything about him being back.
