Carolyn's POV

All morning I'd been avoiding Jared. Well,I would've been if I could just find the idiot.

I was starting to think he didn't come to school.

After third period,I concluded that he wasn't in school.

We had second and third period together and he didn't show up. If he came to school now,there's no way they would've let him in.

I hadn't seen Loren either but that's cause we didn't have morning classes together.

I walked alone to the cafeteria, thanking God that Jared's fan girls hadn't found me.

"Hey!" Loren waved me over.

"Hey." I smiled as I sat down beside her.

She'd already gotten my lunch. So thoughtful, that one.

"Thanks for getting my lunch." I said gratefully before taking a fork full of spaghetti.

The lunch line was so long because today was spaghetti and meatballs Tuesday.

"Oh,I didn't get it." Loren said and creased my eyebrows in confusion.

"What?"

"Your boyfriend got it." She wiggled her eyebrows at me and I almost choked.

Jared's here!? I knew this was too good too be true.

I coughed and water filled my eyes as I did so. I was sure the entire cafeteria  was staring at me but I didn't care, my life was more important.

"Here." Someone handed me water and I took it,uncapping the bottle and gulping the liquid down.

Once I was calm,I cleaned the tears from my eyes.

"Y'okay babe?" I heard Jared's voice and I jumped.

I hadn't realized he was already here.

"Easy jumpy." Jared chuckled. "Didn't realize I was here?"

"No,I was too busy choking to notice." I glared at him.

"Oh,you guys are too cute!" Loren cooed and it was then I realized we were in public.

Jared and I were together in school for the first time.

"Smile for the cameras." Jared whispered in my ear.

Oh gosh!

The entire cafeteria was staring at us.

Jared wrapped his arm around my shoulder and gave a genuine smile,obviously one for the eyes of the cafeteria.

"Play along or the video gets uploaded. Now laugh like I just said something funny." He whispered in my ear.

I forced out a little laugh.

"I hate you." I whispered in his ear and he laughed.

"Eat your spaghetti."

The twenty minutes I pretended to be Jared's girlfriend had drained the life out of me and all I wanted to do was crawl under a rock and die but I couldn't do that cause I had a math homework to finish.
