Carolyn's POV

Three months ago...

"Hey,bubblegum!" I heard the voice of the boy I'd been avoiding for the past three days.

Someone kill me now.

People were staring at us,so I couldn't cuss him out.

"Hey." I gave the fakest smile the world had ever seen.

"Have lunch with me?" He asked loud enough for the people in the row behind and in front of us to here.

Correction: Someone kill Jared now!

He knew I couldn't say no. I could tell from the smug smile he had on his face.

"Sure. Why not?"

I hate you!

"Great. See you at lunch, babe." I mentally cringed as he called me babe and watched as he walked out of the class.

Girls continued to ramble about how cute and hot he was and I wanted to gag.

"Of all the girls in the school,Jared chooses her? What is wrong with the world?" Hailey Nielson scoffed and I just ignored her.

You think I want to be Jared's girlfriend?!

"She's pretty though." Deana,Hailey's best friend said.

"You think everyone is pretty,Deana." Hailey rolled her eyes at Deana.

I quickly turned my face away from them as Hailey turned in my direction.

"He'll leave her soon, I'm sure of it." I heard Hailey said and I could feel her gaze on me.

I pray so.

I walked into the cafeteria and searched for Loren. She wasn't at our usual table.

"Carrie!" My head snapped in the direction of the voice.

Loren was sat at the popular table beside Jared.

What the hell?

I groaned inwardly and slowly walked towards the table, avoiding the stares and murmuring of the cafeteria.

Jared patted a chair at his right side beside Rick Yoon.

"Hey,Care." Rick winked at me.

I was a bit shocked by his action and quickly covered my shock with a smile.

"Hey." I greeted.

I'd never talked to any of the popular before, but then Jared showed up and a week later I was sitting at the popular table where only the most popular in the school sat.

This is crazy.

Was it worth fake dating Jared Davis though?

I shook the thought away and decided to enjoy this moment.

It wasn't everyday this happened.

Before today I was more likely to win the lottery than sit at the popular table but here I was, sitting at the popular table.
