••••Dedicated to Indigopoetry ••••It had been a week since Jared got bailed from the station.
Lola, Jared and Loren's mom had been so pissed. She'd just finished operating on a patient in the hospital when she got the news about Jared's arrest and had to come all the way to the station to bail out her son.
Jaxon had been bruised all over his face with an eye swollen shut, a deep cut in the left side of his lower lip and a swollen left cheek.
Jared had really beaten him up but he had also gotten his fair share of hits with a black eye, busted lip and bruised cheek.
Jaxon had sworn to press charges and that made Lola and Loren even more worried that Jared could've been put behind bars for assault and it didn't help that Jaxon's dad was a well respected lawyer in New York and he was surely going to come back to town to defend his son.
Jared had screwed up so bad and the worse of it all was that he wasn't even bothered about it.
Each time Lola or Loren tried to talked about it, he just shut them down.
Jared got suspended from school for a week and throughout that time he never called me or texted or came over, he just treated me like I didn't even exist which I would've appreciated if I hadn't promised Loren to find out what he'd been hiding.
It was Monday now and Jared was back to school.
Some part of me was nervous and I had no idea why.
I guess I was a bit scared of Jared, seeing the things he'd done to Jaxon.
I'd never believed for one that Jared was capable of doing that to someone. Sure he got into fights all the time but never like this.
It made me all the more curious as to what had happened between he and Jaxon that made him almost kill the boy.
It was part of the things I was curious about.
After Loren had mentioned Jared acting strange, it had me thinking.
Jared had been acting strangely.
He'd blackmailed me into being his girlfriend with a video that I'd had no idea how he'd gotten hold of, then he'd started acting nice to me which had never happened before then he'd seemed hurt by some things I'd said then he'd tried to get my band back together and now this.
Loren had called her dad on Saturday when she came over to find out more about Jared from him but from all he'd told us, Jared hadn't changed all the time he lived with his dad.
That meant Jared's secret wasn't from Australia.
Something must've happened the moment he came home. After all, he was back in town for half a day and no one knew about it until he showed up at Loren's doorstep, so it must've happened between that time.
"Welcome back, Davis!" Jackson welcomed Jared with a bro hug and Jared smiled at him.
"I would've said it's good to be back but it isn't." Jared replied with a sigh and Jackson nodded in understanding.
"Yeah, man. It's never fun to be back to school." Jackson said in agreement as they made their way down the hallway.
For a second, I felt like running away but I stood my ground.
If he was going to act like he'd been doing for the last week, he was probably going to ignore me.
I watched as Jared and Jackson walked passed me and as expected Jared spared me no glance.
