An hour later, Connie watched from her daughter's bedroom doorway as Grace packed some of her belongings into her pink suitcase; standing next to her was Zoe who was unsure of what to say to her boss.

"Connie, you know i'll look after her?" She said, breaking the silence between them.

"You cant do a worse job than me" she said, her eyes not moving from Grace.

"You're a great mom and it wont be forever; she'll be back with you soon enough"

"If she wants to"

"Let me talk to her; maybe get to the cause of her troubles..."

"I know what the cause is and it all leads back to me"

"She still loves you, despite all this; maybe some time apart will make her realise how much you love each other, especially if you make an effort when you do see her" she said as Grace walked over to them. "I'll put this in the car while you say goodbye Grace"

As Zoe went down the stairs, Connie and Grace followed and stood by the front door.

"Grace, i love you and i promise, any time you need to talk, i'll always answer, no matter what time it is"

"Okay"

"Are you sure this is what you want?" She asked again, her voice laced with tears.

Grace nodded before she hugged her mom; Connie wrapped her arms around her daughter and let the tears fall silently down her cheeks.

"I love you too mom" she whispered.

Connie kissed her hair before watching as Grace left the house and got into Zoe's car; she watched them pull of the driveway and down the road before closing the door and collapsing in tears against it as she sunk down to the floor.
