"That's it right there," I said while pointing directly behind a police car, at the Medical Supply Trailer.

Shane, Otis and I had finally arrived at my old High School but from the looks of it, it was immediately overrun when the outbreak occurred. It was still daytime but the sun would soon set and the darkness would not play in our favor. I don't want to die! Shut up Vicki! I already told you it's Brittany!

Sighing, I ignored my voice and watched Shane as he obtained a couple of police flares and threw them towards the walkers creating a distraction. Ha! Can a redneck do that? I think NOT! .....Oh be quiet!

"That'll probably keep 'em busy for a while but we have to move fast," Shane explained and he grabbed onto my hand, pulling me along. I raised an eyebrow at this but ignored it. Instead, I followed along with him as we silently crept around the trailer before finally reaching the door.

Once inside, Otis kept watch by the window as Shane and I retrieved the supplies. To be completely honest I was super scared and I wasn't even trying to hide it. When Shane passed Otis a bag, I latched onto his hand again and he sent me a small smirk. I almost blushed at the stare he was giving me but stopped when I heard a bunch of groaning outside.

Shane opened the door and I witheld a scream as the darkness hit and the number of walkers were revealed. Even in the night, there discombobulated heads can be seen probbing around for food. I gulped when we saw that our main exit was blocked. Thinking fast, I pulled Shane and Otis down.

"We need to go to get inside the school. There's a side entrance that we can use by the gym, hardly nobody knows about it," I told them.

Shane smirked though I did not believe that now was the time. "How do you know about it?"

Now it was my turn to smirk, "I was a gorgeous teenage girl who loved to party, how else did I sneak out? I could not stand algebra, me and numbers are a huge no-no."

Otis cut in fretfully. "I'm sorry to interrupt but can he go now."

I giggled softly but then got back to business. Daryl was right, I don't take anything seriously but how can I? Yes, I saw my bestfriend turn into a zombie and then eat her boyfriend but it happens right?....Ugh! My life is seriously fucked up.

"Amber, let's go!" Shane shouted and I realized that we had began running but I stumbled behind. Shaking my thoughts away I ran fast and caught up with them. We ran and ran until we saw a large group of walkers. My heart dropped. We were cornered and I thought we were done for until Shane closed the metal gate, keeping them at arms length. But I watched in great despair as the metal shook. It wouldn't hold out much longer.

Shit! Shit! Shit! We're going to die!

I lifted my hunting knife and held it close to my chest. Why the hell didn't I scavange for guns? You were to busy painting your nails, remember? My eyes widened at the revelation. How could I have been so useless? This is what Daryl was talking about. Turning my head, I quickly looked over at Shane and Otis. I needed to be strong for them. I needed to get these medical supplies back to Carl. I cannot fail any of them. For once in my life, I need to be selfless and succeed.

"This way!" I yelled since the walkers had long before spotted us. "Come on," I ushered and kicked the glass behind us but I wasn't strong enough to break it. Well...that's embarrassing. I mentally glared at Vicki- It's Brittany!

"Here," Shane used his gun and broke the glass, giving us entrance to the school. I nodded thankfully and we rushed in only to hear the metal behind us finally cave in. My body shook violently as we ran, the adrenaline from before was wearing off. I was terrified. Never in my life, have I ever had to run away from anything, especially blood thristy zombies.

Otis' breathing was becoming abnormal and I knew he wouldn't be able to hold on much longer. That's when a miracle happened. "The gym!" I shouted estatic and we ran inside. I pointed towards the closest window and we made a break for it, the walkers close behind.

Without thinking about anything, I jumped out of the window, my survival of the fittest complex kicking in. We were on the second floor but my cheerleading skills came in handy as I landed with a clean front flip. I stood up proudly and smirked. I'm amazing! Mmh maybe I should join a competit- Wait! Aren't you forgetting something? Let me think....Shane, Otis, THE WALKERS!!!

"Oh right!" I turned and saw Otis leaning out the window but he couldn't get through.

"I won't fit! I'll go through the locker room window!" Otis shouted before disappearing. Why would he do that? Isn't it obvious? He's fat. You know the fat one's never make it. I'm surprised he's made it this far. My eyes buldged out and my heart race increased. You're evil!

"No! Otis!" I shouted, forgetting about the walkers until a gun shot sounded and I heard something fall hard onto the ground. I turned quickly, knife in hand, only to see Shane ontop of a dead walker. He saved me. I smiled and helped him up but he had a limp in his step.

Groaning.

I froze at the sound and picked up the bag, placing it over my back and helped Shane get away from the walkers. We just needed to get back to the car and we would be fine. We would be heroes. But the more walkers I saw, the less likely that idea would be. "I'm scared, Shane." I whimpered as the numbers increased. "I-I don't want to die." I admitted and he gave me an odd look. A look of pure determination.

"You won't," he promised and the certainty in his eyes scared me. He took out his gun and began shooting wildly at the walkers. I was begining to feel better and when Otis showed up, my hopes skyrocketed. Maybe we can do this. "I'm out of bullets." ....Or maybe not.

"I only have one shot left," Otis panted as he ran.

"What! How?" I asked enraged but they ignored me as Shane took the medical bag from me and began limping faster. I could have easily made it out but Otis was falling short. Using my uninjured hand, I looped my fingers with Otis' hand and pulled him along. "You can do it, Otis! I'm not leaving you."

"Give me your gun," Shane suddenly asked with a crazed look on his face. Otis looked hesitant but he gave it to him. We kept on going until I heard a gun shot being fired and I felt Otis' body fall to the floor, pulling me down with him. I landed on something sticky and I gasped. His leg was wounded. I cried out once I put the pieces together.

Shane shot Otis in the leg!

"NOOO!" I cried and tried to pull him up. "SON OF A BITCH!" I shouted at Shane but he only grabbed Otis' bag and roughly pulled onto my injured hand. I shrieked in pain as he pulled on in, the bones grinding together making the pain insufferable. I didn't have a choice. Shane was stronger than me. He easily pulled my body behind his. He never looked back and I kicked and screamed at him to no avail. I couldn't believe this was happening.

"Ahhhh!" I heard Otis' scream in agony along with the sound of taring flesh. The munching and crunching, the eager wails of the walkers, the pleading cries from Otis, everything was too much to bare. How could he do something so henious? The memory of this moment would never be able to leave my mind. This helpless feeling inside of me was killing me softly.

We finally reached the car and Shane finally let go of my hand as he put away the bags. I jumped into the passanger side and a sob broke out. Otis' screamed could still be heard echoing through the trees. Shane soon jumped in and drove us off. But when he got far enough, I couldn't hold it in anymore and I attacked him. I went wild, screaming and punching anywhere. "You fucking bastard! Watch when I tell Daryl! He'll skin you alive!!!"

"Shutup!" Shane shouted, one of his hands roughly grabbing onto my face. He pulled me close to his face, the look in his eyes was wild and unsteady. I suppressed a sob. Was he going to kill me next?

"Shane-"

"Don't you DARE tell anyone about this! Ya' hear me, Amber! Nobody. I saved our asses back there and Carl and I'd do it again if it meant saving all of our lives. You told me ya' didn't want to die now I gave you that-"

"But that doesn't give you the fucking right to murder Otis! What the fuck did he ever do to you? Nothing! You're a fucking monster! You're just mad because nobody wants you around, not even Lori!" My eyes widened as he glared but I stood my ground. This bastard was not going ot get away with murder. "You're a pyscopath!"

Suddenly, Shane smirked wickedly at my words. I gulped. "Alright, Amber we'll do this the hard way. Ya' tell anybody my secret and nd I'll tell em' yours."

My heart stopped. "What secret?"

Shane stopped in front of the farm, I could see Glenn and Maggie outside on the porch. Shane turned off the car and leaned towards me, his hand brushing away the ongoing tears. He whispered, "I heard Dr. Jenner tell you, you're going to be the death of us all." The tears just kept on coming. "I know that you've got your fathers disease and if you turn, you'll be a walker with brains." He chuckled, "Daryl would and I quote 'skin you alive'."

"Shutup, you monster!" I spat and he sighed.

For a moment, he sat there, staring sadly at me. "...For the record, I didn't want to do it, but...I had no other choice and ya' need to understand that Amber. In this world, there are no good guys or bad guys, it's us and them. We must do anything to survive. You'd do well to remember that."

I gulped and watched him hop out of the car with both bags. I sat there for a moment until I smelled blood and I looked down at my dress. Another sob broke out as I realized that it was Otis' blood. I jumped out of the car in panick and I ran into the house, ignoring the looks I was recieving. I just went into my old room and locked the door.

I must be dreaming! This can't be happening. It's not real ! Otis is not dead! He's not....I whimpered. "He can't be dead..." I trailed off into a sob. My world turning black as exhaustion claimed my tired soul.
