That was a decade of darkness
A narrow, damp tunnel
The light too small
From fissure in distance
I followed
I persevered
I crawled, yes I did
And I lost hold
And jerked in gforce
As I free-fall
In the spasm of guilt
I faced the faceless
Jury of blackmail
And make-believes
Until I clutched on the protrusion
Of a sharp stone of hope
The array of trust
Spread in my nerves
Like wildfire
As I reached the crevice of inception
And I see you
For the first time like sunshine
Offered me the garden of roses
With thorns untouched
But a bed of chance,
Nonetheless.
