Waiting Time

I caught you staring at me
Your lips quivered and smiled
I pouted mine to emphasize
I wanted to have that kiss I missed.

You smiled and I felt that love
Enveloping us both
Shielding us from the whisp of cold
And the mist of the dawn.

As we watched the change in light
The hue painted the sky
We both know morning is nigh
And we are still on the phone.

As much as I want to touch you
To rest my head on your shoulder
Or feel the heaves of your chest
And hear the beat of what's in there.

Same as, I just want you to feel my heart
Strumming like my restless fingers
Holding you close, hugging you tight
But we just whispered goodnight.

I snatched my pillows
Snuggled and sighed
I'll be counting mornings to come
Until the time I can finally feel your arms.
