Imagine: breaking up with Chris Evans

Glancing at the clock you swallowed nervously. You had promised Chris you would be home hours ago. Three to be exact. You roll your chair away from your desk and lock up your office for the night.

It was getting late anyways. And besides tonight was going to be amazing. You and Chris didn't really like going super full out for dating anniversaries so you decided to Netflix and chill with your favorite take out.

It really wasn't anything special but it was something you had been looking forward to all week seeing as you have been forced to postpone it due to the hectic life schedule of a movie star.

As you walked home you turned your phone to airplane mode so you could conserve the last life of battery it still while continuing to listen to your blaring music.

As you reached the apartment complex you turned the music down and took the stairs two at a time excited to get home.

As you unlocked your door you saw a folded piece of paper on top of the take our food. The lights were off and the house was cold and eerie as though no one had been home in hours.

Biting your lip nervously you walk over to the paper and unfold it.

(Y/N),

Sorry, Russo brothers just called. They need me today to film some stunts. I had to catch the earliest flight with Mackie. Leaving at 8:00pm and will be back in three days.

You purse your lips tightly together before sighing. Once again Chris had cancelled, and left on a plane.

You understood of course, you were best friends with the man before realizing the chemistry between you two. You knew from day one that his schedule was constantly in flux and there wasn't much stability other than the love you both had for the other.

Yet lately that love seemed to be slowly dying. Everything you did together seemed forced and rushed. Chris and you planned things more than you just did it and those plans seemed to constantly cave in.

If you didn't love Chris as passionately as you do then you would've left him years ago but now...it wasn't as black and white.

You grab the take out food and sit down on the couch while thinking about how things have been lately. The last date you went one was six months ago, sex....around five months. All you two did now was live together and sleep in a bed together. Yet that didn't seem to be the case. Your house was beginning to become the Evans Hotel. Chris was gone so often that when he was home he just crashed and ate all your food.

As you think all this through you begin to realize how unhealthy this was. You knew you needed space but thinking of doing that to the two of you hurt your heart.

It wasn't that you were starting to not love Chris, because you loved him so much. But rather you were getting hurt too often these days and knew you couldn't continue that way if the future you saw with Chris was to become a reality.

With a deep breath in, you squared your shoulders, steeled your heart and walked into your bedroom.

You began to pack enough clothes and essentials for a few weeks before sitting down at the table a paper and pen in hand. You fold the paper in half and address it to Chris.

I love you. That needs to be clear. I love you more than I have ever loved anyone in my life. You, Chris, are the reason I go to bed happy and look forward to the next day. I need that to be crystal clear to you before you read anymore of this.

Something has happened to us and we are drifting apart. The quality time we used to spend together everyday had become less and less. I don't blame you or your acting but rather my inability to work around it.

I have decided that because of that I am taking a break from us. I don't know how long yet but have no plans to make it permanent. We just need to find us again and this is the best way for me.

Undying love,
