Imagine: Carl pushing you away after the Walkers invade Alexandria and he loses his eye

Notes: Fluff and Angst

The door still looked the same from yesterday, and they day before that, and would more than likely not change come tomorrow morning. You knock on the door softly because you knew the person on the other side knew it was you but that wouldn't change a thing. You slide down the door and pulled your legs up to your chest. Your head hit the door with a soft thud. The noise attracted Judith's attention. She smiled her bright toddler grin and waddle-crawled over to you, her solo cups dragging in one of her tiny little hands. Judith makes it over to you and pulls at the leg of your pants, her arms lifting up toward you. The cup hits you in the stomach. You pick her up and she babbles nonsense against your cheek, her fingers knot themselves in your hair. "Judy, have you seen Carl?" You whisper against her cheek. Her eyes light up at the name of her brother as she babbles excitedly. "Me either." You close your eyes to stop the tears. "Carl, please don't push me away. Not me."

It had been a couple of hours of you and Judith siting there. Judith had grown bored of your hair and cups, falling asleep in your lap as you waited in vain. Rick comes up the stairs and smiles at you sadly. "Still haven't seen him?" You shake your head in reply. Rick sits down besides you and pulls you and his daughter into a sideways hug. You rest your head against his shoulder and sigh. "For whatever its worth..." Rick trails off trying to put his thoughts into the words he knows you need. "Carl he." Rick pauses again. You nudge his shoulder with your head.

"I know." Rick smiles glad you could understand what he was trying to say. "I know." You murmur into Judith's ear again.

This fucking door! After a week of finishing chores, sweat dripping down your back as you sat waiting on the never. Waiting on a false and selfish hope. Michonne walks up the stairs before Rick today, sees you head against the door tears dripping down your face mixing with the sweat. Her face falls knowing Carl still hadn't shown his face to you. At least not since that night. She walks over to you and sits down beside you. You grin at her and Michonne winks. Her head begins to bang against the door rhythmically. After a long time Michonne begins to use her hand but she never lets up. A grin forms on your face as you begin to join in and a beat starts to form. Rick walks up the stairs, Judith in one hand, a gun in the other his hand. As Rick realizes that the banging is coming from the two of you in an attempt to annoy Carl out of hiding Rick grins. The safety clicks back on and sets Judith on the floor. She drags herself to Michonne and Michonne stops her banging only to allow Judith to come into her lap.

The banging continues for a while longer, Rick had joined in now. All of you, baby included were having a blast. None of you had plans on stopping anytime soon. Hell, this was the most fun you've had since before the wall fell down. Suddenly you hear a loud noise from inside the room causing all of you to stop. Everyone but Judith, she continued to happily hit her toys against the door. There was the sound of something falling to the floor, and faint footsteps running from outside the house. You share a look with Michonne and Rick. They both nod at you causing you to shoot up, ignore your aching body and run outside after Carl.

As you round the house to where his bedroom window is, you see his retreating figure heading far from you. Anger filled your veins as you ran after him, how dare he chose to run the other way instead of say anything to you. You run after him, feet pounding on the pavement as you make sure not to lose him. People in the street stop to watch you chase after Carl. Daryl sees Carl run by, then sees you far away. After a moment of hesitation he heads after Carl, gaining on the younger boy quickly. Carl, not realizing someone had come to help you, began to slow down. Daryl quickly grabbed Carl by the waist and slung him up over his shoulder. "Put me down Daryl!" Carl demands angrily.
