The Games: Part II

19.

We said our goodbyes to Savannah, and kept on running through the Fortress.

We kept on running down the path we were on when Savannah died. We then made a right. We made a left. We took a right. And another right.

We were met up with a small wall creating a wall on the sides. But in front of us, was an open area.

"FUCK!!!" Ethan shouted.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't know... We were following the right path. But how can we get across?!" Ethan said.

I looked even closer straight ahead, and there was another structure, far away from us.

I saw Janessa walking a bit closer towards the cliff of the floor.

"There's a bridge..." Janessa says.

"What?!" Ethan asks.

Ethan walks closer to Janessa.

"She's right... But..." Ethan says.

"But what?!" I ask.

"We've never seen this place before," Ethan says.

"So you took us in the wrong direction?!" Caleb asks.

"Now's not he time Caleb," Jade says.

"So we're stuck here?!" Kyleah asks.

"Wait," Mia says.

"But we've never seen this place before," Ethan says.

"What if we cross the bridge, get to the other side, and follow the map again," Mia says.

"Okay," Ethan says.

We all crossed on the bridge. I tried not to look down beneath me. I was terrified, as the bridge was halfway broken, and it was wiggly.

"Oh yeah... Stay away from the lava," Ethan says.

I looked under me, and saw a bunch of lava. As if a big pond of water underneath us, but was lava.

I now tried walking a bit faster, until one of my legs breaks a wooden step. An my leg falls through the whole. I was still holding onto the bridge.

"Oh shit," I say.

"You're okay. I got you," Janessa say.

"You okay?" Jade asks.

"Yeah," I respond.

It took me some time before i was able to get my foot out of the hole.

"The sun is going down," Ethan announces.

"Well let's all cross, and find a place to sleep for a while," Mia says.

"We still have a few minutes before the mutts are released," Nick says.

"Okay, let's go," I say.

We have all crosses for the night, and we had some time to start bonding.

"We still have a long time to go," Ethan says.

"But do you know where we're going?" Caleb asks.

"Yes, he does!" Mia says.

"Alright! Calm down!" Janessa says.

"Let's not fight anymore! I'm sick and tired of this!" I say.

"How about if I sing a song?" Ethan asks.

I was pretty shocked because Ethan seemed like this rude person, but was really potential to be nice.

"Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket outside..."

"Welcome back, to the same old place that you laughed about..."

"Well the names have all changed since you hung around..."

"But those dreams have remained and they're turned around..."

"Who thought that they'd need ya, back here where we need ya..."

"Yeah we tease them a lot side we've got them on the spot, welcome back..."

Ethan had finished singing... The song had really struck me...

But the song sounded so familiar... I couldn't have been the only one who recognized it... But I knew why he sang that particular song...

It was referring to us...
