Chapter 9

Angelynn pov

Later on that night, after putting Lily to bed, Derek and I were about to get ready to go to bed when I noticed something outside. "Is something wrong Angel?" Derek asked. "I could of sworn I seen something outside." I said. Derek looks out the window and starts to walk out. "Where are you going?" I asked. "making sure no one tries to hurt you or Lily or Calee again." Derek said. "Please be careful Derek." I said. "Don't worry Angelynn, I'll be fine." Derek said. "I just don't want you getting hurt. After everything that happened today, I don't want anything bad happening to any of us." I said. Derek grabs my hand and says, "You don't have to be afraid Angelynn, I promise, I won't let anything happen to you or to Lily again." I nod as he walks to Calee's and Tom's room. I watched Derek and Tom walk out of his room and went outside. "Angelynn." I heard someone say. I look at the door and seen Calee standing outside of my room."Hey Calee." I said. "Is everything okay Angel?" Calee asked. "Honestly, I hope so. I thought I seen something outside." I told her. "I hope no one is after us again. Tom was so protective as soon as we got back." Calee told me. "I know. Derek was the same exact way." I said. "I hope all you saw out there was just a squirrel." Calee said. "I hope so too Cal." I said.

Derek POV

"Do you see anything near the driveway Tom?" I asked. "Nothing there." Tom said. As soon as Angelynn told me that she seen something outside, I knew that there might be more trouble coming. And after everything that happened today, I couldn't let anything else happen to her or to Lily. Those two girls are my whole world and I cannot lose them. "Derek, can't we go back inside? I'm sure all Angelynn seen was just a squirrel." Tom asked. "After everything that happened today, we can't just assume things anymore. We have to protect the girls, no matter what it takes." I told him. "I guess your right." Tom said. As soon as we were done scouting the area, we sat down on the porch steps and talked. "I've got a feeling that were not safe here anymore." Tom said. "Your right about that Tom. Brian and Calvin is only the beginning. Who knows who could be after us next." I said. "We may have been able to save the girls this time, but next time we might not be so lucky." Tom said. "There's only one thing we can do now." I said. "And what would that be?" Tom asked. I looked at him and said, "We need to get the old gang back together. If anyone tries to hurt our girls, we'll be there to kick their asses." "If we get the old gang back together, wouldn't that only upset Angelynn and Calee? Remember, they hated the gang when we were still in high school." Tom reminded me. "I know, but that is ancient history. Right now, we need all the help we can get if were going to protect the girls." I explained. I then looked up at Angelynn's room and said, "I can't let Angelynn get hurt again." Tom sighed. "Your right Derek. We can't let anything happen to them again. I promised Calee that I will never let anything bad happen to her or our unborn child again." Tom said. Then, realizing what he said, he covers his mouth. "Holy shit Tom. Are you serious? Is Calee really pregnant?" I asked. "Yes, we were actually planning on telling you guys once we knew what the baby was gonna be, but I guess I screwed that up." Tom explained. "Oh my god. You got my cousin pregnant?" I said. I couldn't believe it. My cousin was pregnant. "Derek, you have to promise not to tell Angelynn. Calee wants to leave it as a surprise." Tom said. "Don't worry Tom, I won't tell her." I said. I then looked back at him and said, "There's no doubt about it now. We have to get the old gang back together." "The question is: How are we gonna get them back together?" Tom asked. "Good question." I said. We sat for a few minutes until Tom stands up. "I've got an idea." He says. "Tell me." I said. "Its a risk, but you and I are gonna have to return home." Tom says. "Are you kidding me? Its more dangerous back home than it is here." I said. "I know, but its the only way we can get the gang together." Tom said. "I don't know, if we go back, then the girls are going to get really worried." I told him. "I understand that, but if we want the gang back, then this is the only way." Tom said. "What are we gonna tell the girls?" I asked. "They don't have to know that were heading home. We can just say that were going on a guys trip. They won't suspect a thing." Tom explained. "I don't know about this Tom. It's been a long time since we did something like this." I said, unsure of his plan. "I know Derek, but if you really want the gang back, then were gonna have to let our inner bad boys come back out again." Tom said. I looked up at Angelynn and seen her holding Lily. I can't let those two get hurt again I thought. I looked at Tom and said, "I'm in." "Alright, we'll leave in a week." Tom said. "What are we gonna do about the girls? If were gone, someone can easily capture them again?" I asked. "Don't worry, we can have some police officers stay here till we come back." Tom said. I nod as we walked back inside and went to our rooms.

One week later

"Do we have everything packed for the trip?" Tom asked me. It has been a week since Tom and I decided to bring back the old gang from high school and we are about to head back home to get the guys. "I think so Tom." I said. "Are you sure about this Derek? You and Tom could be captured next." Angelynn asked. "Angel is right. I'm not sure you guys leaving is such a good idea." Calee said. "I know you two are worried, but you've got to trust me when I say this: Derek and I will be okay. Were tough guys remember?" Tom said. "We'll only be gone for a week. If anything happens, we'll come straight home." I said. I feel bad for lying to Angelynn, but I know its for the best. I'll tell her about our plan eventually, but now is not the time. "Tom, promise me that you'll be safe." Calee said. "There's no need for you to worry Calee. I'll be fine." Tom said, kissing her. I look at Angelynn and Lily and said, "I'll be home as soon as I can. Take good care and if anything should happen, the police will notify us and we'll come back." "Be safe out there Derek." Angelynn said. I nod and kissed her and Lily. I then looked at Tom and said, "Let's go, the guys are waiting for us." Tom nods as we got in the car and drove off. Tom looks at me and says, "Time to get the gang back together." I nod and said, "Hopefully the girls won't get too pissed off when we tell them the truth." "I'm sure they'll understand. After all, were doing this to protect them." Tom said. "That's true." I said. A few hours later, we found ourselves back in our hometown. "Home sweet home." Tom said. "Lets get going Tom. We've got to find the others and get back home as soon as possible." I said. "So lets get started." Tom said.
