Innocent Flower Meets Deadly Poison

Chapter 6

Angelynn POV

The moment Calee said that she was related to Derek, I was shocked. "Your Derek's cousin?" I asked. She nods. "My father is his mothers brother. I never wanted to tell you because of the little battle between your family and ours." Calee explained. "So your Derek's cousin? Then how come you tell me that he's a bad person?" I asked. Calee flinches and looks at Derek. "I was only trying to protect you. I knew that if your family finds out that a Poison was trying to get with you, then our little war would grow even larger than it already has." She explains. She turns away and says, "But at this point, the war between the Flowers and Poisons has begun." "What do you mean?" Derek asked. "When we were on our way back here, we heard that the Flowers and the Poisons were in an all out fight." Tom explained. "Holy shit. Is the rivalry between our families that bad?" I asked. I never had a complete understanding as to why we were always against the Poisons. All I knew was that my Aunt Rachel was killed by a Poison. "I guess, although I never had a complete understanding as to why we were always against the Flowers." Derek said. "I feel the same way babe." I said. Later on that day, me and Calee go out shopping to buy Lily clothes, toys, baby food, just anything she needs. While we were shopping, I heard about the war between the Poisons and the Flowers. "Damn, this is worse than I thought." I said. Calee nods as we pay for Lily's things. On the way home, I started to wonder about what could have cause the war between our families. "Do you think it has something to do with me and Derek leaving?" I asked Calee as we carried our things inside. "I think so. It does make a lot of sense." Calee said. "If things get too out of hand, maybe we could go back and try to set things right." I said, unpacking Lily's new things in her new room. Thank god for this cast on my leg. "How are you gonna do that?" Calee asks. "I'll think of a way when the time comes. For now, let's just hope that we don't get caught." I said. Later on that night, after we ate, gave Lily a bath, and put her to bed, me and Derek were about to go to bed when I noticed that he looked a little upset. "Derek is something wrong?" I asked. Derek looks at me and sighs. "Do you think its our fault that our families are in complete war against each other?" Derek asked me. "I think so. I mean, we did ran away." I said. "It sounds weird, but I feel bad about leaving my mom and my little brother and sister behind like this." He told me. "You have a little brother and sister?" I asked him. He nods and pulls out a picture from his wallet. In it was Derek, his father, his mother, and his little brother and sister. "Are they twins?" I asked him. "No my little brother is four and my sister is five." Derek said. "What are there names?" "the girl is Vanessa and the boy is Zach." Derek said. I looked up at him and seen that he looked like he wanted to cry. I grabbed his hand and said, "If things get too out of hand between our families, we can go back and try to make things right." He looks down at me and asks, "How can we do that?" "I'll think about that when the time comes. for now, lets just hope we don't get find out." I said. We laid down in bed as he pulled me close to him. "Goodnight Angelynn, I love you." Derek said, closing his eyes. "Goodnight Derek, I love you too." I said, then I fell asleep. Later on that night, we both woke up to the sound of Lily crying. "Derek, can you go check on her?" I asked. "We agreed that you would check on her the first night of her staying here." Derek said. "I know, but the doctor doesn't want me moving around so much with my leg being broken." I told him. "Sure, use your broken leg as an excuse." Derek said rudely. "Derek, you didn't have to be so rude." I said. "Then quit acting like a bitch and go check on Lily." Derek said. I gasped. How could he say that to me. Realizing what he said, Derek tried to apologize, but I didn't listen. Instead, I got out of bed, grabbed some blankets and pillows, and walked out of the room. I set the blankets and pillows out on the couch and went to Lily's room. "Will someone shut the damn baby up!" I heard Tom yell. "If you keep yelling, it'll keep the baby up." I heard Calee say. "I don't know who's more annoying. You or the baby?" Tom said. I was already pissed off at Derek but Tom just about pushed my buttons. "Fuck off asshole." Calee said. Then I seen her walking towards me. "Guy troubles?" She asked me. I nod as we decided to sleep in Lily's room tonight instead of the living room. We gathered up our blankets and pillows and went into Lily's room. I grabbed Lily and sang her the lullaby I sang to her earlier. She stops crying and falls asleep in my arms. "Good Lily." I said. I put her back in her cradle and me and Calee pass out on the floor. The next day, me and Calee did whatever we can to avoid the guys. I was still pissed at Derek and Calee was still pissed at Tom. That's how it was for an entire week. We avoid the guys and the guys avoid us. We wanted to prove to them that we didn't need them at all and we weren't gonna put up with their cocky attitudes. But, little did I know that we were gonna need the guys more than we had realized when something crazy and scary happens to me, Calee, and little Lily.
