I don't know much Korean but I can understand but not speak full sentences. Just broken korean-- I didn't even think about it. Oh gosh. I hand palm my face. The speaker begins to talk, "Annyeonghasayo. Nae ileum eun Chul So Kim inmeda." The rest blurs in the back of my mind. I start to walk off the plane and we all are crowded. I should enjoy my time here I'm sure my new job will help me. I take a deep breath of the airport air. Rubber and a new smell. I stroll around and walk to grab my bag. Minutes later I pull my bag and out the door. Now to admire my surroundings in awe. I take a big breath of air. Hello Korea. I would say this out loud but may get disapproval looks from the citizens of Korea. I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone as of I've just gotten here. Now, would I? I wave a taxi. A taxi pulls up. "Eodilo?" I stare at him puzzled trying to remember what that means. As if he read my mind he says "Where too?" Ah. "Hotel e balabnida."
"A hotel? Alright hop in please." He chuckles softly. I smile and politely nod.
Getting in the taxi after I had put my suitcase in the trunk, I decide to start a conversation with him. "Where are the best places to eat sir?" He look up in the review mirror. "I can take you to a place if you would like." I stare at him. "Ah. Yes, maybe so and I plan on living here. I am quite excited and sadly don't know much Korean." I wait to hear the snappy remark but instead he replies with something rather kind. "Many people here speak English. You may learn some more on later terms. You will do just fine here and---" mid way he stops. Looking in his review mirror he looks concerned.
