Not Just a Rebound

I called dad this morning and now let's just say I'm about to not be a daddy's girl anymore. If I'm even still alive after this.

I handed my duffle bag over to Dom before starting up the stairs.

"Are you sure you don't want me to be there with you?" He asked from the bottom of the stairs.

I stopped. "You do realize that you're the reason for this meeting and your presence will only further anger him right?"

"Right. I hadn't thought of that"

"I'll be fine Dom. I'll meet you outside"

He slowly nodded before walking away to go out the back door.

I walked out the basement and closed the door behind me before walking towards the living room. I took a deep breath before walking in.

Dad, Ace, and even Justina was here.

I plopped down on the arm of the single seat. "Was all of this really necessary? This seems a bit... Excessive?"

"Are you pregnant?" Dad blurted out.

"No. Oh my god dad"

"Oh thank god"

"Is that what this is about? Ry and T could've answered that for you" I started to stand.

"No. Sit down"

I plopped down again.

"What's this I hear about you and Dominic breaking up and apparently getting back together?"

I glared at my brother and ex best friend. If only I could unrelate to Christian.

I sighed before speaking. "Yes father that is what happened"

"And he cheated ? This is the reason you two broke up?"

I glared at the two again. "Yes"

"Why are you doing this with him again then?"

"It's not that simple dad"

"So explain it to me. While you're at it explain why you spent the night at his house as well"

"I love him" I mumbled. "But I only slept over his house last night because T and Ry made a bet involving me because I'm soo 'gullible' " I had raised my voice and motioned at the two.

Dad glared at the T which caused her to squirm and then turned back to me. "What is this about love? You're only 17 you don't even know what love is"

"Who are you to tell me what I know?" I raised my voice again.

"Lower your voice. I am your father and I've experienced more than you"

"So since you're older than me you automatically think you know everything? Since I'm a teenager I can't know what love is? Tell me dad" extra emphasis on dad. "Since you are sooo wise please tell me what love is"

"Great because me and Dominic have that. Continue"

"It's more to it than that Ahja"

"We're not drinking legal so we don't love each other? We can't do things full blown adults do so we can't be in love?"

"Exactly"

I locked my hands on my lap. "So explain to me father. I'm not 18 yet right? So how am I sure I love mom? I'm not an adult. How can I be sure I love Christian? Rylee? Justina?" I paused for dramatic effect. "How am I sure I even love you?"
