Mary-Ann got in the black Chevy Impala and smirked at Josh.
"What's wrong Mary?" Josh said as he pulled out of the driveway.
"Oh, nothing, it's just that you seem cute tonight." Mary-Ann said as she buckled her seat belt on. She didn't ever think she was ever gonna be here next to her man. She wanted to date him. She just didn't know if he would want to though. Mary-Ann felt so awkward around him. She didn't know what to do while they went to the restaurant. She decided to check at her phone, just to make some time before they got there. Mary-Ann had 5 messages and one missed call.
Nats: hey gurl! so is you at that date yet or not?
Nats: better call me when you finish the date! i wanna hear all about it!!
Nats: Hey so don't ignore me at all!!
Nats: I am literally getting mad since u isn't responding.
Mom: hello Mary-Ann, i just want you to know that i fully support you in this relationship you know i don't really show it that much, but i just want you to know that, and good luck on your date!
Mary-Ann felt some reassurance with that last text of her mother. She wanted her mother to accept her, and to see that she really does want her relationship with him work, it makes her feel very happy. Happy enough to speak to Josh.
"So where are going?" Mary-Ann said as she shifted her whole body to see him.
"Well, It's called Michel's Fancy Restaurant and it has the best food ever!" Josh said as he got into the highway.
Three minutes later, and they were at the place. Mary-Ann knew this could start a new chapter in her story, or end the story itself forever. Mary-Ann grabbed her purse and opened the restaurant door to see an immense oval-shaped place that was filled with waiters and waitresses. Mary-Ann was truly amazed. A waitress took them both to a beautiful booth that had many intricate designs of Mexican and Italian cultures. Josh and Mary-Ann both got tacos, since it was both their all time favorite.
"We have so much in common and we don't even know it do we?" Josh said as he laughed but quickly stifled it when the food came very fast.
"Well that was very fast, thank you!" Mary-Ann said as she dug into her food. Both Mary-Ann and Josh finished their food, payed, and left. It was the most awkwardest dinner she had ever been too. Josh felt the awkwardness in all of the directions as well. He didn't ask for it to be like this, but it just was. They both got into the car, and they drove off. Josh left Mary-Ann at her house. He got out of the car to open the car door for her. He was such a gentleman, thought Mary-Ann. Josh wanted this to be perfect, but in the end, it was just pure awkwardness.
"I had a good time." Josh said as he closed the car door.
"Me too, hope we can do it again?" Mary-Ann said hopelessly.
"Sure!" Josh said, and then Mary-Ann left to her house.
"Wait!" Josh said and he ran to her. Mary-Ann turned around only to see one thing.
Her lips pressed against his.
