Chapter 14

Caroline's POV

It's been a couple of weeks since Joey and I started dating. I can't remember the last time I felt this happy. For the past year I've felt depressed and I hated myself all the time. But ever since we started dating, all of those feelings have gone away. He makes me happy and he makes me feel like I have a purpose.

Today we're making a video announcing that we're dating. We're only making one video, and we're posting it on Joey's channel. I can just make it show up on my channel after he uploads it. I'm going to be honest; I'm a little nervous to announce it. He calls his fans psychopaths as a joke, but some of them really are crazy.

-recording the video-

Joey: "Well hello there everyone."
Me: "Hi guys!"
Joey: "So we have some pretty exciting news for you guys."
Me: "We do."
Joey: "Caroline and I are dating!"

He put his arm around me.

Me: "We've been dating for almost a month now. I 100% mean it when I say that I haven't been this happy in a while. Joey is so amazing and I'm so lucky to be his girlfriend."
Joey: "And I'm so lucky to be your boyfriend."

We kissed.

Me: "I love you."
Joey: "I love you too."

I put my head on his shoulder.

Me: "Next week we're going to do Q&A videos, so leave us some questions about our relationship on twitter."
Joey: "Use #askcoey so we can see them."
Me: "I guess that's it, unless you want to say anything else."
Joey: "I just want to say that I really hope you guys support us and our relationship. We're extremely happy together and it would mean the world to us if you are happy for us."

We smiled at each other.

Joey: "May the odds be ever in whose favor?

I pointed at the camera.

Me: "Your favor!"
Joey: "Goodbye!"
Me: (doing a peace sign) "Bye!"

I got up and made the camera stop recording.

Joey: "I think that went well."
Me: "I think so too. I'm glad we finally are telling everyone."
Joey: "Same. I think this video will be quick to edit. So I think we can have it done by lunch tomorrow so you can post it on a Thursday."
Me: "Ok."

-Thursday, after the video is posted-

Joey's POV

We posted the video about an hour and a half ago. Right now Caroline and I are responding to some of the comments. Mainly all of the comments are positive. Some of them are saying that I'm cheating on Shane.

I couldn't be any happier from the response from our fans. And I think Caroline feels the same way.

After we replied to some comments I made a smoothie and we shared it.

-later that night-

Caroline and I were at her apartment. We were sitting on her couch while watching Mulan. I had my arm wrapped around Caroline. She had her head resting on my chest.

One of the things I love about Caroline is that she doesn't need to go out and party to have fun. And I'm the same way. I'd rather have a movie night or a game night than go out and party.

After the movie ended it was around 10. We went upstairs to her bedroom and cuddled. Another thing that I love about Caroline is how cuddly she is. After a few minutes we started kissing.

Me: "I love you so much."
Caroline: "I love you even more."
Me: "That's not possible."
Caroline: "But it is."

I looked into her eyes.

Me: "Your eyes are so beautiful."
Caroline: "I like yours better."
Me: "Well I like yours better. I like how they look lighter when you first wake up and how they look darker when you go to bed. I like how they are kinda blue on the outside and green in the middle."
Caroline: "You're the sweetest person in the world Joey."

I smiled. Then we kissed some more. We broke apart when we heard the front door open. Both of us knew who was there.

Caroline: (whispering) "Shit."
Me: (whispering) "You really need to change the locks."
Caroline: (whispering) "I know."
Sam: "I know you're home. Don't be a pussy and come down here."

Caroline started to get up. I gently grabbed her arm.

Me: (whispering) "Are you actually going down there?"
Caroline: (whispering) "I have to. Don't come down unless I call for you. I don't care what he's doing, just wait until I need you."

I let go of her arm and watched her walk down the stairs. I got off the bed and stood by the door so I could hear what was going on.

Caroline's POV

I walked halfway down the stairs and saw an angry Sam.

Me: "What do you want?"
Sam: "For you to get your ass down here."
Me: "No."
Sam: "Get the fuck down here now or I'm coming up there."

I walked down the stairs.

Me: "Happy?"
Sam: "No."
Me: "So are you going to tell me why you just decided to walk on into my apartment? Did you just happen to be in the neighborhood? Or did you-"

Sam pushed me to the ground.

Sam: "Don't talk smart to me."
Me: "Last time I checked you can't tell me what the fuck to do."

He kneeled down to where I was on the floor and he pinned me down. He slapped me on the cheek.

Sam: "Did I tell you that you could date that loser?"
Me: "Are you referring to yourself?"

He slapped me again.

Sam: "Did I fucking tell you that you could date him?"
Me: "Why the hell do I need your fucking permission?"

He started punching my stomach.

Me: "Joey! Help!"

Joey ran down the stairs and pushed Sam off of me. He started punching Sam. I quickly crawled away, holding my stomach in pain. I coughed, gasping for air.

I looked over to Sam and Joey, who were now rolling on the floor punching each other. Eventually Joey pinned Sam down and they started shouting at each other.

Joey: "What gives you the fucking right to talk to her like that?"
Sam: "Everything!"
Joey: "You can't just beat her up and treat her like a peace of shit!"
Sam: "Yeah I can!"
Joey: "No you can't!

Sam pushed Joey off of him then pinned him down.

Sam: "You can't tell me what I can and can't do!"

I managed to get up. I limped over to where they were fighting and kicked Sam on his side. He fell off Joey.

Me: "Don't you fucking touch him!"

I kicked him another time on his side before kicking him in the crotch.

Sam: "Fuck!"

Me: "Get the fuck out now you bastard!"
Sam: "Or what?"
Me: "Do you really want to find out?"

He got up. Then he pushed me down again. He gave Joey and I the middle finger as he walked out the door. I got up and locked the door behind him.

Joey: "Are you ok?"
Me: "No."

Tears fell down my face. The spot where Sam punched my stomach was in so much pain. Joey stood up and walked over to me. He wrapped me in his arms.

Me: (crying) "Joey it hurts."
Joey: "Do you think you need a doctor?"

I nodded as I wiped some of my tears away.

Joey: "Let me go get my keys and I'll take you to a doctor."

He ran out of the door and came back a minute later with his car keys. I cried all the way to the doctors.

-at the doctors; after testing-

Joey's POV

I was sitting on one of the chairs in an examination room. Caroline was sitting in my lap, curled in a ball. She was still in tears. I hate seeing her crying and in pain.

Caroline: "When is the doctor coming back in here?"
Me: "Soon."
Caroline: "It hurts really bad."
Me: "I know. It's going to be ok though."

The doctor walked in a few seconds later.

Doctor: "Well, it looks like you have a broken rib."
Caroline: "Seriously?!"
Doctor: "I'm afraid so."
Me: "How is it going to get fixed?"
Doctor: "It's going to heal itself. Just take it easy for a few weeks. Try not to cough, sneeze, or laugh for a couple of days because it's going to hurt. Ill prescribe you some medicine to help heal it though."
Caroline: "How am I not supposed to laugh?"

She cried even more.

Doctor: "I'm sorry."
Me: "How long do you think it's going too take for it to heal?"
Doctor: "If I had to guess, I'd say around 4-6 weeks."
Caroline: "Joey, vidcon is in 2 months."

I wiped a tear off her face and kissed her cheek.

Me: "Then we have to make sure you get better."

The doctor prescribed her some medicine before we went back to her apartment.

-in the car-

Caroline's POV

Me: "How am I not supposed to laugh for a month and a half?"
Joey: "Well he didn't say you couldn't. He said it would hurt if you did though."
Me: "I know, but still."
Joey: "Does it hurt as bad as it did before?"
Me: "Yeah."

Joey took one of his hands off the steering wheel. He took my hand and held it.

Joey: "It's going to get better soon."
Me: "I know. But it really hurts though."

We got back to my apartment around midnight.

Me: "Can you spend the night here?"
Joey: "Of course."
Me: "Thanks."
Joey: "You should get some rest now."
Me: "Ok."

We went upstairs to my room, changed into some PJs, and climbed in bed. I fell asleep shortly after.
