Chapter 2

KYLE'S POV

We got off the bus and walked in together. I don't know why, but I'm more excited this year. I'm gonna make my life something. I carried my bags into the office like thing, while the others talked. I asked for my room key and number, the rest followed suit. Jordan and I raced down the hall, as fast as we could with the extra weight tied to us. As I said, we are childish. The good news is, Jordan and I are roommates. We are racing to see who gets the better bed. Jack is by himself, Alex and Rue are roommates and Samm is by herself as well. I reach the end of the hall, out of breath and tired, but at least I won! Jordan and I walk in together and I set my things down and start to unpack, but then get bored. "Hey Jordan! Do you want to get the girls and Jack for lunch?" I said into nothingness.

"Yeah, sure." he said, coming out of the bathroom. I went to Alex and Rue's room, while Jordan went to get Jack. I knocked on the door and there was noise and stuff behind the door, but then it opened to reveal Rue. Who was obviously not expecting me, as she had music playing and the room a mess with clothing and bags, clearly she was unpacking. The only thing missing from the picture, was Alex.

"Hey, I just came to ask if you wanted to eat lunch with Jordan, Jack, the girls and I. By the way, where is Alex?" I said, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"Oh, she went to help Samm unpack." She smiled sweetly. 

"Oh well, do you want to come with us?"

"Sure." She said with a smile. We went to Samm's room and I knocked. There was no answer. Rue said she has an extra key, so she opened it for us. Although I wish she hadn't because when I walked in, I saw Alex full on making out with Samm.

JOHNNIE'S POV

This is It. Tonight is the night of the ceremony. I've been thinking about what Bryan said in the morning. Am I ready for this? Am I good enough for my mate? No I'm not! Whoever they'll be, they will be better than me. What if I don't survive? Well that's obvious, I'll die. But I can't die! I have to do this for whoever they are. Bryan is wrong! I feel a tap on my shoulder. 

"You okay dude? You're shaking." Jeydon, my other friend, (and yes, I have more friends) asked.

"Yeah, I'm just excited for this to be over." Which was true. I am excited for this to be over, but I'm more nervous than excited.

 "Yeah! Me too! I just want to find my girl and hold her tight, but you know, have to do the whole 'kill me first' thing."

I laugh nervously and then ask, "What if your mate is a guy?"

Jeydon laughs, but then says, "Then I will love him the same way, idiot!" We both get up, get dressed and hunt down a rabbit or two for breakfast. I run into Shannon and Bryan while doing so.

"So! You ready for the journey today?" Shannon asked. Bryan looked scared for his life. "Y-yeah, totally. I-I got this." I say, mentally slapping myself for stuttering.

"You don't sound like it." Bryan mumbles. What? Is he against me or something?

"Well so am I! So let's go!" Shannon shouted. We zip through the woods to the community center, where the ceremony will be held. The closer we got, the more I became scared for what will happen. 

"Hey! Who is doing the ceremony this year?" I asked, since they told us someone new would be performing it.

"I was told Andy and Juliet are, but I don't know for sure " Shannon tells me. Once we get there, we walk in and sit up front. Andy and Juliet are sitting on a stage thing. Uh, that's new.

"Hello my fellow vampires." Andy greets everyone and there was a response of hi and hellos from all directions. "Yes, well we are here because six young vampires, still need to go through our ceremony. Johnnie Guilbert,  Bryan Odell, Ruby Rose, Jade Dawes, Shannon Taylor and Jeydon Wale, come up here." We do as we are told. "This year's journey, you guys are in luck because your going to college." I am confused, as to what that meant and apparently so were the others.

"Since you are clearly confused, I will explain what he is trying to say." Juliet stood up. "All of your mates go to the same college and to everyone's surprise, are human. Your job is to go there and find them. Sounds easy enough. Right?"

She turned to me, I don't trust her, but before I could speak up, Shannon did for me. ""What's the catch?" She said with a look of curiosity and confusion.

"Well the catch is, you can't go in the building and you won't have your body's in two days. Meaning you have two days, to locate your mate, then you and whoever it may be, will switch bodies and help find each other that way. You all have one week. If you don't find each other by then, you will turn to ash. Got it?" I'm now very scared. What if I fail? That's it... I'm dead...

SHANNON'S POV (I CHANGED IT UP FOR YOU, YOU'RE WELCOME)

Since its obvious the guys have no idea what she explained, I decided to help out. "So, we are going to college to find a bunch of f*@king humans? How do you even know they are human and how do we know if they are our mates? Isn't humans and vampires being a thing, kinda... I don't know... Illegal or something?" Everyone turned to me when I spoke.

Andy answered me. "Yes, you're going to college. Yes, your mates are human. All you need to know, is that they are human, surprisingly enough. As far as it being, "illegal," it happens once every blood moon. You're in luck because Sunday night, the last night you have, is a blood moon. To know if they are your mates, you'll both get some kind of spark. In other words, you'll just know." Well that answered it.

"Oh, okay. I guess?" I say, not able to process that my mate, is a human.

"Yeah, but as Andy said, once in a blood moon. So how, all of you, ended up with a human mate, no one knows." Juliet said. "Now, go pack, we will send you on your way." Everyone clapped for us. I don't know why, I mean we basically just talked, but whatever.
