After their slightly emotional conversation, he bid goodbye to him. It was Monday, so just like any normal person working, he headed to his office. He is the CEO of his own Rios Realty International Ltd.
His driver was waiting in front of their house.
"Good morning, Boss!" greeted his driver.
"Good morning to you too, Azriel!" He greeted back.
The moment he entered the car, the driver drove off. It would take around one and a half hours to reach his office building, which was located in the heart of Miami.
He never conducted any transactions that involved his other secret job. That would be conducted in the place of their president somewhere in South Lake.
At first, he went to acquire a piece of property there, but his father told him if he wanted, he could have their house in West Palm Beach. He likes it because it is cozy. He will talk to him again about it. He can buy it from him.
They reached the city at exactly 9 am. He is late today. Office hours start at eight o'clock. Anyway, it is better late than never.
He went to his private elevator going up to his office. He occupied the whole top office all by himself; of course, his assistant is with him on the same floor as a secretary, but as of this moment, he does not have a P.A. His assistant resigned a few days ago because her husband was transferred to another state. Poor wife, but she had to follow him.
Today he has been scheduled for an interview for the new qualified applicants to fill the vacant position of personal assistant.
When he reached his office, there were many applicants seated in the client's lounge.
"Good morning, ladies, I apologize for my tardiness." He greeted the ladies seated.
"It's okay, sir!" They replied.
He went into his office room and called the secretary through the intercom.
A moment later the secretary was in his office."Yes, Mr. Rios?" she asked.
"Bring in the new applicant," he ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Rios." She excused herself and went out. She brought in the first applicant and left.
"Good morning, Sir!"
"Good morning! Have a seat." He motioned to the chair in front of him.
"Thank you!" Said the lady and sat down.
"Tell me why I should hire you," he asked.
He could sense that she was nervous.
"You should hire me because I'm the best person for the job. I realize that there are likely other candidates who also can do this job. Yet I bring an additional quality that makes me the best person for the job: my passion for excellence. I am passionately committed to producing truly world-class results."
"That's awesome! Can you work under pressure?"
"Yes, Mr. Rios," the woman replied.
"I'll review your resume and I'll let you know. Thank you, Ms. Gomez."
"Thank you, Mr. Rios." She stood up and left.
This one is similar to his previous PA. He will review her resume later; he wants to see the other applicants first; maybe there are still better ones than she is. After a while, the secretary brought another applicant.
He motioned her to sit down.
His whole morning was spent only on interviewing applicants.
"Lexie, how many applicants are left outside?" He asked the secretary.
"Only four applicants left, Mr. Rios," he replied.
"Please tell them to have lunch first, bring them to the cafeteria, and bill it to me. I need to eat lunch too. I'm starving," he told Lexie.
"No problem. I'll take them there. What time are you going to see them again?" Lexie asked.
"Around two pm," he replied.
"Okay. See you!" She said.
She left his office.
When he came out from his office, the client lounge was empty. Lexie had taken them to the cafeteria. He called his driver to wait for him outside. He went down to the lobby and went directly to the entrance. The car was already waiting. His driver was very efficient.
"The usual Boss?" Azriel asked.
"Yes, the usual," he replied.
Azriel knows that already. Because it's Monday, they will be having steak. He made a schedule where they would go to eat their meal each day. Azriel always eats with him. He's not just his driver but his bodyguard as well.
He's the only driver who wore suits during his duty. He follows him everywhere. Only in his building did Azriel stay in the carpark. He had his air-conditioned room with the complete facilities he needed. When they reached the restaurant, Azriel gave the car to the valet. They walked inside, and the waitress led them to their usual place. The place is reserved for them every Monday. Just because it was the same schedule every week, it did not mean they ate the same thing.
The waitress gave them the menu. They scanned for their food.
"How's the interview going, Mikael? Azriel asked him.
He asked him to call him by his name whenever they were outside. Just like they're best friends. Actually, for the many years that they have been together, they became accustomed to each other. But Azriel still calls him 'Boss' sometimes, though he has been told many times that it's better to call him by his name so that he will get used to it.
"It's fine; there are still four applicants that I need to see after lunch," he replied.
"Nothing close to Sandy? How about Lexie? Why not make her your P.A. and hire a new secretary?" Azriel said.
"I'm thinking about that. I will decide later if I can't find anyone suitable for the position of Sandy; I'll take Lexie," he replied.
He's thinking about it already. Lexie is already familiar with the work of Sandy. Both ladies have been working. Together. Lexie is an efficient secretary, and so is Sandy; if only her husband hadn't transferred to another state, he wouldn't need to find her replacement.
If there are no suitable candidates for the position, he will consider Lexie to fill Sandy's place.
Well, he will wait until he interviews all the applicants.
They eat silently when their order arrives. When they finished eating, they went back to the office. He wanted to finish the interviews as soon as possible so he could decide whether he would make Lexie his P.A. and hire a new secretary.
