"Ladies and gentlemen, if you didn't know already, this is Bryn Williams. Sister of James, Jax and Jase Williams." Bryn could see her brothers fuming from the sideline.
James was about to go after Lias. They thought they were going to use their sister to mess with them or something. They didn't expect what left his mouth.
"Bryn is the best thing that as happened to me these past few months. I was ashamed because of who she was, but I'm not anymore. I know now that she is worth it. She is worth staying up late for. She is worth being beaten up for." Bryn giggled. She knew he was talking about her brothers. The whole crowd stayed silent. She could see Natalie's stunned expression from where she was standing. She could only imagine what she was thinking.
Lias kept his gaze on her the whole time as he spoke. He wanted her to know he means every word he is saying. "-and I think I'm in love with her." There was an echo of Awe's coming from the crowd. Lias grabbed Bryn's hand and took off running away from the field when he saw her brothers advancing on him.
They made it to his car and slid in before bursting out in fits of laughter. "Are you crazy??" Bryn shrieked in between laughs. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She knew her brothers would be upset with her, and she's probably going to pay for this tonight, but right now she didn't care. She got what she wanted. Lias wasn't ashamed of her. They made their way away from the football stadium and found themselves at the beach. When they got out of the car, Lias bulled her to his 6'5 frame. He wrapped his arms around her waist and just pulled her closer.
"I meant what I said Bryn. I want to be a part of your life. I don't care what anyone thinks. I don't care if your brothers hate me. All I care about is you." His smile glistened in the light. He flashed her his perfectly straight teeth and she couldn't help but smile back. She knew at that moment that anything her family says to her won't matter. The only thing that does is standing right in front of her.
When Bryn got home, she was surprised to find no one home. She went straight to her room and plugged her phone before going to sleep.
When she woke up, she found Jase sitting on her desk chair with his hands folded in his lap and his head hanging low.
"Jase?" She asked groggily. This made him jolt awake and stare into her eyes for a few seconds before looking away.
"How could you Bryn? You're supposed to be our sister. You know how we feel about...him." He wouldn't even say Lias' name. "The worst part is that you kept this whole thing a secret from us. Your family. The people you're supposed to be able to tell anything to." Bryn's gaze dropped. She knew what he was saying is true. She just isn't going to give up on Lias.
"I know. I wanted to tell you, but I knew you would be mad and-" he cut her off.
"And instead you let us find out so publicly, and from that prick?" Bryn was fuming now. He had no right to call him that.
"He is not a prick. He is nice to me and sweet and actually cares about me." He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah and that's why he let you cry yourself to sleep for a while. Bryn, we were the ones there for you. Not him."
"That's because you have to be there for me Jase. You're my brother. My best friend."
"I'm not so sure about that anymore." And with that said, he got up and left her room without another word.
The next day when Bryn went down for breakfast, none of her brothers would talk to her. Even James who is usually the peace maker. He wouldn't even look at her. He just kept his gaze on his cereal. Bryn sighed before she grabbed her car keys and left the house. She had to go somewhere to clear her mind. She called up Natalie and asked her if she wanted to meet up at the mall. Of course she said yes. She would never miss a chance to go there.
Bryn picked her up within five minutes and they were on there way when she began to speak.
"So last night...that was interesting. You didn't tell me you had a thing with this boy let alone your enemy."
"He's not my enemy. He's my brothers'. And I really wouldn't like to talk about this right now. My family already hates me. I haven't even seen my father's reaction yet. He's probably mad at me too. I wouldn't doubt it." The rest of the ride was silent. When they got to the mall, she got many jealous glares from the girls who went to the game yesterday. She just rolled her eyes.
The mall was great, but it didn't keep her mind off of everything that's going on. She decided to text Lias.
Hey -B
After a few minutes, he texted her back.
Hey beautiful -L
This brought a smile to her face, and she almost instantly forgot about her brothers.
You wanna do something later? -B
Isn't it my job to ask that? lol -L
Yeah but you were taking too long :) -B
Well I'll get right on that then. I'll pick you up at six, okay darling? Dress nice. -L
Do I get to know where we're going? -B
Nope. :) But I promise you'll like it. -L
What if I don't? lol -B
Oh you will. I know my baby. I'll see you then. :* -L
Bryn locked her phone and put it back in her pocket with a smile. She had to find a cute outfit for tonight. Nat helped her find a sundress that crossed in the back and left her lower back open. It was just fingertip length on her. Then she got cute white sandals to go with it and a pair of pearl earrings.
When they got to her house, she completely ignored her family and went straight to getting ready. She took a quick shower and made sure to shave before hopping out and dried her hair with her straightener. Then she put on natural makeup and left her hair straight so it flows down her back.
After she was all ready, she heard her father call her name. She told Natalie to stay in her room and she went out to the living room where they all sat. Her mom was in the kitchen making desert for after dinner.
"What are you all dressed up for sweetheart?" She asked kindly. She knew her mother wasn't mad at her. You could tell if she was.
"I have a date tonight." All the boys' heads snapped towards her.
"That's what we need to talk to you about." Her father growled. He definitely wasn't happy. "I don't want you seeing this boy."
"Dad." Her heart sunk. She couldn't believe he was doing this to her. "Dad you can't tell me who I can and can't be with. Don't you want me to be happy?"
"Of course, but-" She cut him off.
"He makes me happy. That's all that matters." She took off running out the door as soon as Lias pulled up. He got out of his car and met her half-way.
"Hey-what's wrong? What happened?" She sobbed into his chest and he just soothingly ran his hand over her back.
"I hate my family." She cried. It hurt her to say that, but right now it really felt like she did hate them.
"Why is that?" He pulled away and wiped her tears away from her eyes.
"They just won't listen to me. They're stuck on the fact that they don't like you. It's not fair. I should be allowed to be with anyone I want. Why not you. I wish they would just stop trying to control me. My brothers are even trying to get me to forget you." Lias stiffened.
"Where are they?" Bryn sniffled and told him they were in the living room. Before she could say anything else, he marched his way into her house while dragging her behind him. All her brothers stood up as soon as they saw him come through the door.
"What are YOU doing here?" Jax snarled.
