TyI wasn't about to deal with her dumb ass questions so I left. My roommate freshman year was homophobic as hell. She wouldn't change in front of me and if she caught me looking at her she would catch an attitude and call herself cursing me out. I would laugh it off but deep down it kind of hurt because I've been judged all my life. My own parents disowned me to the point where I left New York and came out here to North Carolina. I had no friends or family, just me, myself and I.
One day I met this girl who was a freshman too. She was a pretty lil thang, brown skin, deep dimples on both sides and pretty brown eyes. She was very nice, actually the only friend I had at the time. We hit it off real fast becoming the best of friends. When Thanksgiving Break came around and I had no where to go she invited me to New York with her. I was nervous, anxious and about to throw up. She reassured me that everything would be alright and that her family wasn't judgmental. Man was she right.
They welcomed me with open arms like they had known me all my life. That really changed my perspective on a lot of things and people. From then on we were close and inseparable. She transferred to NC A&T but we still hang out almost every weekend when we're not busy.
"Hey Ty" I heard a familiar voice say bringing me out of my thoughts. I looked up to see my teammate Zion smiling like usual.
"What's up Z? I think we have a repeat of last year" I said shaking my head.
She rolled her eyes obviously annoyed. "Let's go to the gym and hoop." I nodded my head and followed behind her. Basketball always made me feel better.
When we walked in two of our teammates were in there shooting around. I smiled and grabbed the rebound putting it back. "Two on two?" I asked. Z nodded her head yes enthusiastic as always. It was Z and Sierra against Jax and Me. We shot for the ball and of course I made the shot.

We played three games to twelve and my team won two. I was worn out and hungry. I looked at my phone and it was going on 1:30. I needed to get back to my room and take a shower because I stunk.
"Lunch at 2:15?" I asked looking at everyone. They shook their head yes so I headed back to my room.
As I approached the room I heard loud music playing. It was Juke Jam from Chance The Rapper's new mixtape Coloring Book. I stuck my key in the doorknob and slowly opened it up not knowing what to expect. When I walked in I saw a half naked girl dancing around and on the phone. She ignored me so I ignored her, the best that I could anyway. Her body was amazing which made it hard not to stare.
I started stripping my clothes off and tossing them into the closet one piece at a time. I was left standing in my sports bra and boxers. My roommate was still wrapped up in what she was doing that she didn't notice me, that's until I walked into the bathroom and cut the shower on. The music cut off and she hung up the phone. I washed my body a few times then got out.
She was now fully clothed and waiting for me to do the same. "Where's the cafe? I'm hungry as hell." I rolled my eyes because she didn't ask in question form. She was rude for no reason at all.
"I'm actually headed there now to meet some friends. Want to come?"
I couldn't believe I had invited her to lunch. She looked around as if she was thinking about it but the growling from her stomach made her give in. She grabbed her phone, diner card, and room keys.
