As The Day Comes To An End..
The sun lays on the horizon,
And ribbons of pink and orange dance through the air.
Singing birds fade out their songs,
And lay to rest with out a care.
The blaze of the energy entwining in the sky,
Simmers down to a simple whisper of words.
The cautious gray alley cat,
Puts down it's high alert.
As the day comes to an end,
With everything falling still,
My eyes flutter shut,
Left to dream at my will.
Stars come out,
And for once I'm not counting them.
Instead I hear the clock,
Ticking, Again and again.
The moon isn't on my mind.
Neither is the sidewalk I haven't yet chased.
My heart beat falls steady,
And my hand plays with the braid my sister laced.
As the day comes to an end,
I can't help but wonder.
There's so much unsolved,
So much not explained by a number..
