This is for you because I like you. =)

It's short but I hope this will do.

“Where could Dahlia be?” Brianna asked herself. “Did the vampire followed her?”

She scanned the place once more. She ran on the deeper part of the forest. The whole place is dark and every figure, like the trees, seems to be in blur. Her heart is beating fast. She could hear it and the sound echoes on her head. That is the only thing that is clear to her. With her visions blocked, her sense of hearing is doubled.

She tried to remember everything she heard in her History class.

Vampires were born once in a century, she knows that already.

They were stronger if they survived five decades. She tried to picture out the vampire’s face. He is young, probably, not far from hers. He’s 20, maybe 21. But how will she know if he had survived decades? They never grow old. She squeezes some more information in her mind.

They have a maddening speed. She started to pace now.

Guardians can never guess what a vampire is thinking; it is hidden in their facial expression. Not so unusual because other hybrids can deceive Guardians by their façade.

Maybe History is not the answer on her dilemma. She tried to remember Professor Obed’s lesson in “Basic Defense from Hybrids”.

“Oh.” She muttered. They were not taught how to practically defend themselves from vampires! She silently cursed their professors. “Didn’t they anticipate that time would come and they’ll encounter these hybrids?” she ran a hand on her hair. They’re overly confident.

She’s restless now and started to pace in circles. Every now and then, she glances around but there is no sign of the vampire yet. Brianna swears she never felt helpless until now.

“C’mon!” she forced herself to think faster.

Vampires maybe were strong but what is a Guardian’s edge to control this extraordinary hybrid?

Then suddenly it hit her.

“The septra.” She whispers to herself. A weapon given only to licensed Guardian.

And just when the answer came to her she started to hear movements around her. She stopped pacing and readies herself for the encounter.

“Hi fella.”

Brianna spun around upon hearing the greetings.

The man is standing in front of her. Two meters away. He has pale, chalky-white skin. With black hair. And emerald green eyes. A very alluring vampire.

“Hi yourself,” she replied. Draining all emotions left on her.

“An apprentice with an attitude”, he commented and smirks.

“What do you want?” Brianna pretended to be strong.

The vampire started to move. So did she. Brianna then noticed that they are both walking in circles, calculating each other.

“Nothing. I just want to see you in person. I’ve heard so many stories about you.”

Surprised, she stopped. Who would talk about her? And where would that vampire got the story? To impress, she raise one fine eyebrow. “May I ask what story in particular?”

A lazy, twisted smile started to form on his lips. Brianna bit her lip. A very annoying vampire, she thought. What was he thinking?

“Um…let’s just say, I know some things. Sometimes, someone’s future is very predictable.”
