The world keeps trying to build a house in one day
but I say it shouldn't be done
for going too fast you'll make many mistakes
and all your work could quickly be undone
No ma'am it takes time to build a beautiful home
you must build it brick by brick
don't forget to check everything twice
and don't finish too quick
But every now and then a person,
a wanderer with no home at all
comes and takes some bricks away
and pushing down all your walls
You see this person is full of hate
is jealous of you building your own home
no one taught them home to build
and so they walk the streets alone
It's not their fault things took this turn
sometimes life just makes us bitter
But it's your job to help them learn
to build a home before the winter
As you try and rebuild your house
toss them a couple of bricks
because you have endless amounts
you say "We can both do this"
See now you're both building beautiful homes
and that once bitter person now smiles
They went and got their own load of bricks
and started building homes for miles
Sometimes all it takes is time
to help someone else build a home
even if they treat you wrong
it may be because they're alone
So as you build your kick ass house
try not to tear other's down
and try to take a moment or two
when the homeless one one comes around
Author's note: Homeless person is a metaphor for someone with no self esteem that likes to bully other people.
