Adrien POV-------------------

I watched them bury my father, the priest giving a speech but I didn't listen. A thick gray fog surrounded us, making the day worst than it already was. Almost everyone I knew that survived the raid stood watching the kind, gentle man, though he lost the love of his life; he protected us all from the pirates, now dead.

Felix and I were standing alone, growing dark as time past the wind sending chills up my spine. I lost so much in only one week: my father, my freedom, my friends, my subjects, and my only love Marinette.

I looked up to Felix, something about him was not right. He looked up to me smirked, nodded, and walked away; leaving me alone in the woods to mourn.

Marintte, Alya, and Nino's parents had set sailed for a new life, but rumors spread that a storm killed them all. Who knows whether it was true or not, I was unsure about everything.

--------Time skip---------

For as many times as I could remember, I begged my brother to let me train and become the captain of the French army,

"Please Felix, there is nothing left for me here-"

"No, Adrien. I promised father to take care of you and I am not letting you train to be in the army."

"Please this is my dream, I can make the army stronger than it is now. If you could listen we can be able to stop these pirates from raiding us.."

Felix put his hand up, closing his eyes, very frustrated, then spoke once more:

"For the last time, no. We have a very strong army at the moment and I cannot see you at such a young age to improve it."

"Alright, what if I spent years training? I would be off your hands. Could I them join the army?"

Felix rubbed his chin, with a look that could have meant anything, he chuckled

"Then you wouldn't have a chance of taking the throne."

"What was that?"

"Oh, I guess you could train. If you improve in ways I can be impressed with, then and only then will I have you be put into the army."

"No don't just put me in the army, make me captain. And if I fail to impress you...?"

My brother grinned as his eyes gleamed, I knew without a doubt that there was something bad to come up and I hope it isn't too serious:

"Then you will be put into exile."

I could not believe why I heard come from my brother the only one who was related to me by blood telling me I would be banished from my own kingdom.

But this was a decision I was determined to make, I stuck my hand out for him to shake, he smirked, firmly taking my hand and shaking it. At the same time we said,

"Deal."

4 Long Years Later-------

I panted as sweat dripped down my face, my instructor red and exhausted from the practice. He finally understood that I was ready, after four years of fencing, archery, leadership skills, obstacle courses, and fights with some of the strongest men in our kingdom, I was prepared to show everything I've got to King Felix...I think.
