Don't forget to light up that star, make a wish when you do!

Adrien Third person POV---

He climbed the hill, out of breath smiling at the bluenette who waited for him at the top.

"Adrien, what is taking you so long?" She giggled as Adrien fell at her feet, exhausted from running a great distance, and carrying a special something.

He said between breaths, "I wanted to meet.....you here to.....show you-I mean to tell you..."

"Adrien dear, you should catch your breath or you will faint." He nodded, sitting on the grass watching his friend, his first real friend, pull out and open a small cloth piled with crossiants from the bakery.

Her parents were the best bakers in the kingdom, he personally believed that they were better than the royal chef. Yes, it means his father was the king, but Adrien knew, though he was only 8 years old, that he would never get the throne. He didn't mind that Felix would be next in line for King of France, he didn't want to spend his life cold and lonely like his father ever since his mother disapeared; possibly taken away by the most feared band of pirates.

The pirates worked for Papillon, no one has ever escaped their cluthes, Papillon's for that matter.....

"......Adrien.....ADRIEN!!"

"Gaagh! What is it?" He jumped and pulled out his thin sword out of the leather sheath.

"You were staring at the grass, you didn't even drool over these croissants!" Marinette bursted and laughed, then she calmed down but her smile grew as Adrien took all the croissants from the cloth.

"Save some for me, too! And do you really think you could protect me with that stick, Adrien?"

"Father said I am learning well since my teacher stopped coming over for my practices!" The blonde showed off his "skills" thrusting his sword out and jumping and spinning. Marinette joined him and begun to spin, they giggled and fell back on the grass dizzy, the world spinning.

Marinette sat up while Adrien crawled toward her until his face came very close to hers. He pulled out a black with a lime green lined box, on the top was a fancy gold carved M , he looked right into her eyes and said,

"Marinette, ever since we became friends I knew that we would be close, closer than our other friends, closer than Alya or Nino. Or even Chloe," Marinette made a face at the mention of her name.

"I also think I'm closer to you than those croissants." His mouth watered just glancing at the wonderful pastries.

"I wish you were my sister because Felix will never love or treat me the way you do, I hope you agree and like my gift." He opened the box as she leaned to look and gasped, there were two necklaces, both were gold circles, one with an A carved in and the other a M.

"Here, the A stands for my name, keep it so you will always remember me, I'll take the M because that stands for you, Marinette." He looked up into her bright blue eyes as they widened and her beautiful smile that reminded him of his mother, her cheeks dusted with pink and finally spoke,

"Adrien, you are my best friend."

"And you are mine, Marinette. I will never forget you,I will be there for you always, best friend."

She giggled and hugged him,

"No,not best friend, brother."

He wished it could be true, he wished his mother could see him right now, he would tell her, Mama, this is Marinette, my best friend! She was my first friend!

That's great my little kitty, I always knew you would make friends, I am so proud of you! Felix still loves you, your father loves you, I love you kitty.

I love you too Mama!

The duo watched the sun begin to set, each running to their own home, waiting for the sun to come out again.
