Her eyes squint, grip becoming tighter on my hand. My thumb runs soothingly over her small fingers, coaxing a shiver out of her. I watch as the needle penetrates her delicate skin once more, a flurry of back and white protruding from the tip.

I smile as the tattoo is finally finished, helping her to the mirror to witness the fresh ink.

Part of a heart is drawn into the now sore, red flesh, me peeling off my bandage to reveal the other half.

"Now, when were together we'll be whole, and when were apart you'll have my half and ill have yours." I whisper.

Punz looks up at me, green eyes wide and searching. Her fingers lightly brush over my arm, watching the muscle tense as she does so.

"But Jack," she mutters, diverting her gaze to me again.

"What if we ever...are separated for good? What if we don't like eachother anymore."

I touch her cheek idly, teeth showing as I grin at her.

"Oh punz, as long as your in my thoughts ill never not like you. As long as you walk this earth, you'll still have my heart," she turns to the mirror.

"Even if I don't have yours."

He lurches out of sleep, covers ruffling as rapunzel lay beside him peacefully.

A deep sigh is released as he sees no half heart drawn into her skin, checking his own arm just to make sure.

A slight smile is given to the girl sleeping next to him, jacks sweater covering her upper half. The frost that always sat upon the thing while he wore it had melted away, strangely not leaving a patch of water after its departure.

Rapunzel nuzzled further into her pillow as the boy stood, placing the covers back gently before grabbing his staff and quietly closing the door.

The moonlight shone on his bare skin, wishing he could cover himself back up. That thought led him directly back to the girl he once lay with, warming his hoodie while he sat without a peice of clothing on his back.

Jack chuckled as he tugged lightly on the material of his pants.

"At least I have these." He spoke aloud, flying over to the window.

That was his perch for most of the night, sitting and waiting for the moon to slowly descend into a dawn.

Time passed by slow, as it usually does. He couldn't  help but wonder why on earth people bothered with time, especially since it kept them wondering and waiting. They would rush because of time, slow down because of time, expect certain things because of the time. What was the point? What if everyone just lived peacefully, had no need for money or work.  They wouldn't be late, they wouldn't be broke, they wouldn't go hungry. Everyone should just get a simple portion of everything. That's what he thought anyways.

"Jack?" A muffled voice said groggily. The boys head whipped round, then watching on with a wide smile as rapunzel shuffled over, the sleeves of jacks hoodie covering her mouth as she stepped into the faint light of the moon.

"What are you doing?" He questioned with a smile, beaconing the young girl over as she stood still infront of him.

She padded closer, the hoodie still covering her mouth as she sat on his lap.

Jack pulled her closer, his arms resting on rapunzels waist as she pushed herself against him.

Her head was placed against his chest, knees bent and sleeves still covering.
