We all sat around and joked for what seemed like hours. I can honestly say that this is the happiest I've been in years. I feel like I finally belong somewhere.

Even Anna, who stayed quiet for all of this time, smiled occasionally at something Dru or Dean would say.

The conversation become serious when I asked about the Shadow Clan.

"What are they?" I didn't know who I asked but Mr Slade answered me.

"Since the beginning of time, there have been Hunters of the Night and the Shadow Clan. Some say they were created when Lucifer fell, however we only know that it is our duty to cleanse the world of their filth- by any means necessary."

I was surprised by the passion behind those words. It's obvious that they all feel this strongly by the determine looks on their faces.

"What exactly do they look like? I know I saw one in the parking lot today but he looked sort of fuzzy and dark." I quizzed.

This time Dru spoke up, "That's exactly what they look like. Up close you can kind of see their face...almost human-like I guess, but with razor sharp teeth and red eyes... but Deans uglier." He added on the end. I couldn't help but laugh at Dean's fake hurt expression.

Dean rolled his eyes and faced me, "Their strength and speed is what makes them deadly Tammy. They don't have special abilities like we do. The blood of a Hunter is what they crave." He reach forward and tucked my hair behind my ear like before and spoke softly, "If they attacked you and drained your blood, they would be able to look into the past like you can. But it doesn't last; that's why they come back for more."

We had unconsciously moved closer to each other as he spoke. Our lips were only inches apart. I was lost in the depth of his eyes. Then Dru coughed loudly.

I scrambled back and looked down. I had completely forgotten about everyone else in the room. Oh my gosh, I just did that in front of my history teacher!

"I think I might head off guys. Thank you for the little demonstration. I'll see you tomorrow." I jumped up and headed towards the door with Dean right at my heels.

"We'll save you a seat tomorrow at school!" Dru called out as the wooden door swung shut.

We walked to the car in a comfortable silence, pretending that the moment we just had didn't happen.

I looked around and was surprised to see that they sun was behind the mountains, causing shadows to appear.

At the thought of shadows, I subconsciously stepped closer to Dean.

We jumped into the car and we flew down the highway towards the town. The wind blew strands of my hair around my face and I smiled at how relaxed I was.

Dean broke the silence, "How are you feeling about all of this?"

I laughed, "Shouldn't you know better than anyone?" He rolled his eyes and smiled at me. I love the easy banter between us.

I gave him a serious answer, "I'm actually feeling pretty good. I want to become a Hunter."

Dean's hands tightened suddenly on the wheel and asked in a strained voice, "You want to be a Hunter?"

I nodded enthusiasticly, "I want to do what you guys do. Learn how to fight, use my power for good and kick some Shadow butt!"

Dean was silent for a short period. He finally spoke, "It's not all like that Tammy. It's dangerous, we could be killed any moment. We train all the time;there's no time for school work. No socializing, no parties. You don't want a life like that."
