Tammys POV

The next day I woke up with a killer headache and my new 'signs of power' on my palms aching. I grimaced when I saw my reflection in the bathroom mirror; dark circles painted the skin under my eyes and my face looked pale.

Aren't Empress's meant to look beautiful and exotic all the time, I mused. The Hunters of the Night are in for a rude awaking if they think this. I laughed quietly to myself; gosh I must be going crazy.

I'd heard dad come home extremely late last night, even for him. He'd left again early this morning. If I was being honest with myself, I kind of miss him being around. I hadn't seen him much lately.

I pushed this all to the back of my mind and focused on building the wall around my mind to keep the visions away. It was getting easier every time I did it.

I applied light make up and blush to give my skin some life and threw on a sweat shirt and skinny jeans. I chucked my hair into a high ponytail and decided I was ready.

Bounding down the stairs, I grabbed my car keys and hopped into the White Beast, shoving a granola bar in my mouth as I went. I know, not very attractive but I never claimed to be.

As I walked toward the school's front gate I felt small droplets of rain land on my skin. Naturally, the rain started falling harder until it was coming down in sheets.

I squealed and ran for cover but it was no use; my clothes were now saturated and my hair hung limb into my eyes. I was going to be wet and miserable for the rest of the day. Great!

"Dammit! Stupid rain!" I kicked the brick wall that was closest to me in anger. I didn't have time to go home and change.

I looked up to see the smiling faces of the Twins walking towards me. They were both dressed in dark jeans and blue shirts that made their eyes seem darker. They were both bone dry.

"Good morning Empress. It would be a pleasure to assist you with the little dilemma you have," Blake said with amusement as he took in my soaked appearance.

I crossed my arms, "Don't call me Empress. It's Tammy. And I would be greatful for any assistance you could give me. Do you have a spare shirt?" Anything was better than my current wet one.

Jake chuckled at me and rolled his eyes, "He meant that he'd get the water from your clothes with his...gift," he said quietly and looked around. Thankfully there was no one near.

I shrugged. At least Blake couldn't set me on fire, unlike Jake.

"Fine go ahead, there's no one about." I stepped towards him and spread my arms out and shuffled my legs so they were apart.

Blake's eyebrows furrowed in concentration and he stared at me without blinking.

It looked like magic when thousands of tiny drops of water floated from my clothes. Even the ones that had landed on my skin were leaving me and hovering towards Blake. He collected them in an orb about the size of both my fists and gently placed them on the wet concrete. As soon as he released it, the water gushed out, spreading in a directions.

A smile spread across my face and I frantically patted myself down. I was completely dry! Even my hair was back to its former glory.

"Thanks Blake!" I walked over on impluse and hugged him. He froze for a moment but then hugged me back. It felt nice.

"Anytime Empress." He smiled down at me.

A voice boomed towards us. I knew who is was immediately.

"Looks like we missed all the fun! Damn, the things I would do to see Tammy in a wet t-shirt!" It looks like Dru won't be treating me any differently.
