Claire’s P.O.V.
Gramps took Freddie off my hands last night willing wanting to see how is grandson is doing and Freddie's always kind of been in awe of Grandpa, the man has presence there’s nothing else to it you just have to notice and respect him there’s not a choice in it.
As I pulled into school the usual flock of boys admiring my car swarmed and some stayed even after I left I can’t blame them it is beautiful but if one them dares scratch it I’ll go stone age on their ass hit them upside the head with a baseball bat. Since I wasn’t in school yesterday I know that I’ve got to fill in a ‘back to school’ form or something which you usually only have to do for work but they say they want to prepare us, whatever. I think it’s best that I get that out of the way now so I’m not running around after school later. With that in mind I set a brisk pace to the office at the front of the school and clocked Mrs Bull behind the counter – a tall, skeletal figure but oldy warm and sincere for someone who deals with paper work all day every day, her light gray hair pulled into a high tinkerbell bun soft and straight with her half lens glasses balancing on the end of her slightly beaky nose. I smiled when she looked up realising I was coming towards her – I hate it when I have to walk up to somebody, once you sero in you can’t be inconspicuous about it.
“Why hello Claire darlin’ what can I do for you this mornin’”? Ah the true accent of a southern belle.
“Please can I have a back to school form”?
“Course honey” she said with a smile turning around briefly to pick up a yellow form from a pile on the desk behind her on which also sat her morning green tea and gossip magazine. “Are you feeling better today”?
“So so but I’ll be fine I always am” I said with a wink as she turned back to me handing me the form. I took it over to the desk set off a little way from the door and took a seat on the generic blue foam backed chairs taking a black pen from my bag to start.
Date/s you were absent: 31/9/11
Reason for absence: ... what the hell am I supposed to say being beaten? I better stick to the story I told Jenny but even then fell from dock sounds stupid because it is I didn’t even do it, fell from height? That sounds ridiculous... Fell from dock I finally let it go I can’t say anything else – very bad bruising and swelling.
Did you contact a doctor? No
Are you fit to return to school? No. Yes.

I picked up the form after scanning for any spelling mistakes but had to wait in line since there’s a guy in front of me talking to Mrs Bull. I took my time observing the stranger, kind of tall, dark brown hair skilfully cut and styled to look like he’d only just brought himself out of bed – I know it’s not for real I can literally smell the hair product from here. His clothes are fitted, black slim fit jeans and grey shirt pushed up to his elbows, a black leather satchel slung across his body form his left shoulder and white vans.
After a minute Mrs Bull leant around the boy to look at me.
“Oh Claire honey you can give me that otherwise you’ll be here all day” I smiled aware that the boy had turned to look at me himself and as painfully aware of new people as I am and with my low self esteem I didn’t dare turn my head to look at him back I just leant around him to hand my form back. I turned on my heel to leave when she called me back. “Oo Claire are you alright”? Confused I looked her and then realised she was reading my form still.
