Chapter 6

"Lisa wake up sweetheart!"I heard grandma's sweet voice and I growled before kicking off the covers.
"I want to sleep more!It's the holidays!"I whined covering my face with my pillow.
"Get up darling.It's already eight-thirty.You'll have a headache if you sleep for too long."
"Argg but if I don't sleep I"ll have bags under my eyes and I hate them!"
"Well your bacons are on the table.Eat them before they turn cold.I'm going to visit Mr. Collins.I heard he got sick!"
I heard that name before!Luke!Shit it was eight thirty and he said that someone would come to pick me by nine.Oh hell Lisa!Get up!
"Gran I will be out also!I'll be meeting new friends!"I said getting out of bed and walking to the toilets.
"New friends?You didn't tell me about them?"Gran questionned.
"Never really got the time!"I put the toothbrush into my mouth and started brushing my teeth.I was glad that grandma would not be at home when I will go to the territory.She might have suspicions about 'my new friends'.
I quickly donned a pair of black jeans and a grey sweater but then Luke's voice resonated in my mind."Just look at yourself!" and I took off my sweater and wore a lighter black sleeveless vest.It was rather short and a part of my lower belly was showing.I had stopped wearing that last year but kept it because I really loved it.I took a glance at the mirror and decided to let down my hairs.The vest was showing off my curves also and initially I felt apprehensive and embarassed but then I kicked those thoughts out of my head.I grabbed my purse and moved out of the house,waiting for Luke or one of his friends to come.I was going to show him that I could very much get myself comfortable in their group and the thought brought a smirk on my face.
"Lisa?"I turned around and met the boy with the green emerald eyes whose face looked shocked.His eyes were wide opened.I smiled proudly.
"Hi!"I said."So it's you who came!"
"Uhh yeah the rest were busy!"I would not lie.I felt a little disappointed because I was hoping Luke would come to fetch me."Let's go!"He gestured for me to move forward.
"Yeah!"
He walked quietly by my side until I broke the silence because it was going too awkward.
"So?"I asked.
"So?"He rose one eyebrow.
I bit my lower lip.Yeah it was a habit of mine,especially during situations like this one but this boy was really someone stupid.He could have started the conversation instead of repeating my question.
"What's your name?"I asked lamely.
"Daniel!But everyone call me Dan!"He said sweetly.At least he was not like his friend,Luke.
I nodded. "Lisa!And everyone calls me Lisa itself.No shortened version!"I said scrunching my nose.
"Yeah it's a pretty name though!A shortened version would have probably spoilt it."
"Maybe but actually my paper name is Elizabeth Marie Tran!Everyone have been calling Lisa since I was born and I even assumed it to be my paper name until I was eight!"
'What the hell Lisa?You just told your full name to a stranger!Didn't you learn when you were kid that you should never do something like that?'My conscience was back.
"Okay!Mine is Daniel....Collins"He said his last name regretfully.
Wait!Did he say 'Collins'?As the name of the sick one grandma had gone paid a visit?
"Collins?"My eyebrow rose automatically.
"Yeah.He's my biological father!"He said and I could sense the pain in his voice."Unfortunately!" he added.
"I'm sorry.I got too personal.I just messed everything up.Sorry!"I gave him my best apologetical look and it worked again.His smile was back.
"Don't give me that face.It's freaking the shit out of me!"
I laughed together with him.
"Glad you're different from Luke.He's been so grumpy with me!"I complained.
"Yeah I noticed that.It's because you talked badly about his upbringing yesterday.He had a pretty harsh one,just like all of us.And then you said his mother spoilt him while she endured a lot.He usually can't bear when someone talks badly about his mother.You're lucky that he did not cross his limits with you."He shaked his head.
"Oh I see I'm sorry!I just can't control my tongue sometimes."I slapped my forehead.
"You should apologise to him.I'm sure he will understand.He's very good at heart but he just can't seem to control his anger sometimes."
I understood him.I couldn't control my tongue neither.
"You're finally back!"I heard Kara's voice coming from the destroyed building that we parted from yesterday.
"Oh it's the territory?"I asked Daniel as we jumped in the fields covered with long grasses and made our way to the building.
"Yup!"He said as we moved behind the building.
"Hey Lisa!"Kara kissed my cheeks.
"Hi Kara."I smiled politely.
There was a big hole in the back wall of the building.We moved in and I saw two half-torn couches, two old mattresses and an old television on the floor.When my eyes fell further,I noticed a rusted refrigerator in the corner just beside a large table covered with papers.
"Make yourself at home baby.The toilets are there."Daniel winked at me.
"Oka-ay!"
Just as I was about to sit on one of the couches,a dark-eyed boy pushed me and laid there.
"Hey!!"I yelled at him.He had well-cut hairs but he was lacking half of his left eyebrow.His nose was well-structured and thin pink lips just like mine.
"Sorry.But it's my place.!"
I frowned at him.
"We have not yet been presented.I am Nick!"I kept staring at him. "And you are.."
"Why should I tell you my name dick?"I wanted to tease him.He seemed the youngest of them all.
"It's Nick not dick and yeah baby how can I present my future girlfriend without knowing her name?"He winked.
Was he fucking kidding me?My mouth literally fell open.
"Oh please!You look like the little brother I've always wanted to have!"It was my turn to wink and his face was worth seeing.I pushed him and sat next to him.I pulled my right leg on my left and smirked.
"You can't do that to me!I bet I'm older than you!"He challenged me.
"And how old are you?"I asked.
"16 and you?"He said proudly.
"Well then we're twins!"
"Whatever.Tell me your name now please!"He begged with pleading eyes.He was really cute but friend-zoned.
"Lisa."
"And I'm Jessie!"A browned hair girl slapped Nick's head before throwing herself on the couch that was in front of me.She was wearing a similar vest like mine just that it was way shorter than mine and her whole belly was out.She pulled out a cigarette,lit it up and began smoking.
"Nice to meet ya Jessie!"I said.
"Yeah me too.Wanna take a blow?"
"Huh thanks no!I don't smoke!"I replied.
"Yeah you forgot she's the good girl!"I heard that one voice that had the power to shake my heart out of my stomach coming from my behind.I rolled my eyes before I pulled the cigarette from her fingers and put it in my mouth.
'What are you doing Lisa?You're mad!'My conscience tried to prevent me but I was determined to shut Luke up so I took a blow and I regretted when I felt a hot smoke making its way up to my throat.I choked and began coughing.
"Told ya!"Luke was now at Jessie's side and when my eyes fell on him,I saw his shocked face,his widened eyes and my inside sreamed in joy;though later I felt angry about the cigarette issue.
"I'm just not used to it!"I snapped.
I heard Nick chuckle by my side and I used my right elbow to hit him in the stomach.
"Stop it guys!"Kara joined us along with Daniel and Anna."Let's discuss our plans if we do not want to get buried alive by Diego and his men."
"We don't even know where we will have to go!"Nick said.
"Yeah but we have the plan of the full house of the Vanderas.Diego's man gave it to us in the morning.Looks like he knows a lot of things about us."Kara moved towards the large table and brought a large sheet of paper.She laid it in front of us and began explaining the locations.
"This room is where the control of the security line is guarded and we need atleast two people to desactivate that because there will be lots of security guards there.We'll have to learn about how to desactivate that thing!"
"I can do it!"I interrupted."I am a physics student and I have done something like that before."
"You're sure?"Daniel asked.
"Yeah I am!"I stated with confidence.
'Wow you do realise that you're being eager to help commit a
theft?'
'I know but I don't want to think about this now.'I shut my conscience up.
"We have our technician.We need someone to protect her from the security guards."Kara said happily.
"I'm here.I'll protect my girlfriend"Nick proposed and winked at me.I rolled my eyes at him
"It's no joke Nick!We're serious!Luke?"Kara turned to face Luke with pleading eyes.Why only him?There was Daniel also and he was way cooler. There was no way he was going to accept.I knew that his deariest wish was to see me dead.So why would he protect me?
"Okay!"He said casually.
I could not believe my ears.Did he just accept to protect me?To protect me??Me,Lisa Tran???
Oh I saw where he was going!He would definitely threw me in the jaws of death.He would not protect me there.I could sense it in his stare.He would just pretend to protect me!Maybe if I would apologise to him,his thoughts about me would change and he would really protect me.
"So Luke and Lisa will go in that quarter to desactivate the security lines while Jessie and Nick will be responsible for the power cut.With the dark visioned sunglasses given by Diego,Daniel,Anna and I will steal the sapphire.We will have to be quick.Once we have the sapphire,we will run from there and meet you guys outside in Diego's van.Is that clear?"kara asked and we all nodded.It did not seem that difficult.
'Unless Luke dumped you there!'
Oh shit yeah I should apologize to him as soon as possible.I looked up at him to catch him staring at me.I frowned at him and he threw me a death glare.Only God could help me from that boy!
